Top Ten Things On My Bookish Bucket List

March 25, 2014 Posted by angelreads Features, Top Ten Tuesday 14 Comments

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list that members at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. All bloggers are then welcomed to join. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is: Top Ten Things On My Bookish Bucket List
This week was fun and sad at the same time, I want so many things some that will take years for me to get but hey I will hopefully get them. (These are in no particular order)
1. Attend BEA: Aka BookExpo America, this is pretty much the event that I need to go to NEED. It would be amazing to go to this event, sadly as I live in Australia it’s going to take a while for me to get there.
BEA_logo_starburst2. Grow a ‘successful’ blog: By successful blog, I mean one that I am happy having, one that people love, that I love.
3. Start and finish more series: There is so many series that I want to read ( Shatter Me, The Lunar Chronicles and so many more.) There are also series that I need to finish (Pushing the Limits and more)
4. Work in publishing: It’s my dream job to work in publishing, so it would be amazing to work for a publishing house
5. Meet more authors – I have meet a few authors in the last few years; Samantha Shannon,  Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner and a few more. I love meeting authors, there is something about it, being able to met author.

6. Write my own book: I have always loved writing and to be able to write my own novel would be pretty much the most amazing thing I could ever do. I know it’s going to take a while but I hope to get there.
7. Have more singed books: I LOVE signed books. There is something about having signed books by the author that just makes me love the book even more. I pretty much cried when i received my signed The Fault in Our Stars

8. Have a reading room: When I buy my house or even build it, I want a reading room, with bookshelf all along the walls, with comfy coaches and with a window seat.

9. Meet more fellow bloggers: I love meeting bloggers that I talk to online, it’s really amazing meeting people, wired but awesome.
So that is it for this weeks Top Ten, yes it wasn’t 10 but close. Hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to follow my Facebook page and on bloglovin for more from me. You can also subscribe to through email. Check it out in the sidebar.

I’m reading The Bone Season right now! It’s seriously intense… o.O Oh but I’d love to have books signed. I’ve won a few sign books…but I mean, actually MEETING an author and having my book signed??! I think I’d be so freakishly excited all I’d do is look at my shoes and mumble. (I’m also really really shy.) Hehe. Awesome list!! I think working in publishing would rock. My TTT!

Great bucket list Angel! 😀 Lots of people want to work in publishing apparently, so it’ll be a tough market, but I’m sure you’ll reach that aspiration soon! 😀 I totally agree on the ‘library room’, although my best friends not very happy about the idea 🙂

The people who have a little reading nook like on the picture are truly blessed. Just imagine sitting there with a cup of tea and looking out on the rain, thunder and lightning ^^ magical!

I think we all want a reading room or library in our homes. As I type this, I’m even daydreaming about it now. Great list.

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.
