Ten Books on my Spring TBR

Ten Books on my Spring TBR

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list that members at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. All bloggers are then welcomed to join. This week’s topic is: Ten Books on my Spring TBR.

I love spring, it’s one of my favourite seasons. I like that it’s not too hot, that I can go on walks and even sometimes I can sit outside and read. Also, my birthday is in spring (November 18th to be exact), but it’s just a nice couple of months before the heat comes.

This week there is a mix of books, some have been published, some not. Some I already have in my hands, some I need to find some money to buy. However, I am hoping to read most fo these by the end of November.

TTT Spring 1

Heartless by Marissa Meyer: I currently have an arc of this in my hands and cannot wait to get started. I have loved Marissa Meyer’s previous novels and cannot wait to dig into this. Published: November 8th

The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi: I was sent this one for review, but I am totally excited to read it. Published: November in Australia

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo: I loved Six of Crows and cannot wait to see what happens next. I loved the world, the magic and the characters. Published: September 27th

TTT Spring

Tales of Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare: Okay, I have already read this but, I cannot wait for it to be in physical form and re-read it. Published: November 15th

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West: This is already out, but I have yet had the chance to pick it up and I really hope to do it in the next couple of months. Published: July

Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers: I haven’t heard too many things about this one, but I was sent it for review and it looks like something right up my alley. Published: August 22nd Australia/New Zealand

TTT Spring

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff: The only reasons I haven’t picked this up is because I haven’t had time. I feel like it’s one of those books that I just want to sit down and read. So I am waiting. I was lucky enough to be able to interview Jay for my #LoveOZYA Interviews. Published: July

In the Dark, in the Woods by Eliza Wass: Aka – The Cresswell Plot. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year, but I have yet had the chance to read it. I did buy it the other week so that is one step closer. Published: April

The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout: This one sounds like my kind of read and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully soon. Published: June

TTT Spring

The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan: I adored the first book in the series,  and I am so excited to see where this adventure takes me. Published: October 4th

And that is my list! What are you looking forward to reading in the next couple of months? Do we share anything that is the same? Do you think I might enjoy something else? Let’s Chat!

I should really buy P.S I Like You soon considering how much I absolutely love Kasie Wests writing and I also think I might get Nevernight because everyone is raving about it though that doesn’t mean I’ll like it so maybe its a library book.
I hope you enjoy reading these angel 🙂

Great list! I’m really looking forward to reading Crooked Kingdom and Heartless as well! I read The Star-Touched Queen earlier this year and liked it, though I didn’t love it. I seem to be the only one who didn’t like Nevernight though. I think I’m going to have to give it another try. I hope you get a chance to read these all!

I can’t wait to read P.S I Like You, surprisingly enough it’ll be my first (and probably not last) Kasie West book. I won’t lie, all the absolutely gorgeous pictures of it on bookstagram totally convinced me buy a copy. Good luck with it!

I’m commenting even though Mich already has because I also really need to buy P.S I Like You. I’ve only read one Kasie West contemporary (and the Pivot Point series) but I loved it, so I need more of her books in my life.

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.
