Completed Series That I Want To Finish

Completed Series That I Want To Finish

December 22, 2016 Posted by angelreads Discussions, Features 10 Comments

A couple of weeks ago I did a post about series I won’t be finishing. This time I thought why not share what completed series that I want to finish reading. Most of these series are older and have been completed for a while. I don’t have much excuse for not finishing before as you will see from below, but I hope to soon.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor: I have no excuse for not finishing this series. I loved the first book and I mean loved. And I have all the rest of the series signed and I still haven’t finished. This series will be finished by next year!

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi: I read this series when I started blogging. It was one of those books that I read because of other bloggers. I remember really enjoying it and wanting to read more, however at that time I didn’t have money and my library didn’t have them in stock. I know that I will need to re-read the first book before I continue.

Penryn and the End of Days by Susan Ee: I loved when I first read this series. I loved the different take on Angels and how they are not the good guys. I only need to read the last book in this series, so I need to get on it.

Freak of Nature by Julia Crane: I read book 1 in this series, way back in 2013 when it was coming out. I remember really enjoying it and excited for the next book. However, I never got around to it, let’s hope in 2017 I can.

The Blackcoat Rebellion by Aimee Carter: Again, I really enjoyed book 1 and just never got around to reading more. I have heard mixed things about the rest of the series – so I am uncertain if I want to finish reading the rest.

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles: This one was another book I read because of bloggers. While enjoying the first book, I never got around to read more. First I need to buy them.

Reboot by Amy Tintera: I am totally confused as to why I haven’t finished these books. I feel in love with the first book and it was one of my favourites of that year and then I remembered that I had not read the second book. I think life got in the way.

And that is it. I hope that you enjoyed this post. What series are you planning on finishing? Do we share any of the same? Where do you think I should start? Do you think I should give up on any of these? Let’s Chat.

I joined the 2017 Series Enders Reading Challenge for exactly this reason. I have far too many series that I’ve started and enjoyed but never got around to finishing!

I don’t want to put the pressure on myself so I won’t be joining, but I want to finish all the series that I do have on hand for sure. Thanks for the comment

I still need to finish the Angelfall series, I only have one book to go! Why have I put it off so long?!

DOSAB had an… interesting ending to the series. It was strange. Interesting, but strange.

Under the Never Sky is a series I’ve started but haven’t had the chance to continue yet and I really want to! I loved the first book so much and it’s so frustrating not yet being able to buy the other two.

Good luck with completing these next year!

I really need to finish the Daughter of Smoke and Bones trilogy. I read and LOVED the first 2 but somehow never picked up book 3! I have no idea why. Now I feel like I’d have to reread the first 2 again. So I keep putting it off.

I love the Perfect Chemistry books! They were all fabulous!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
