My Latest KU TBR | July 2021

My Latest KU TBR | July 2021

July 11, 2021 Posted by angelreads Book Hauls 1 Comment

It’s that time again! Today I’m sharing with you my current Kindle Unlimited TBR. I seriously love sharing what I currently have on my kindle through KU. It’s a great way for me to share books that I have recently stumbled on and want to share as well.  I go through a lot of phases with using KU. Sometimes I use it all the time – and then there are times when I’m just using it here and there.

There is a lot of new books on here this time. I’ve read quite a few from previous TBR’s, but there are also some that I haven’t got to yet. As most of the time, these are pretty much all romances. However, there are some new types of romances on here as well. Which I’m super excited about. Let’s go!

The Complete Kit Davenport Series (Kit Davenport #1-6.5) by Tate James: This is not my usual thing – at all. But I recently read the ‘Madison Kate’ series by Tate James and why not! It’s always fun trying new things that are for sure. And I cannot wait to see what Tate James does with fantasy. I also love that it’s a collection so I don’t have to keep on borrowing and return once I finish a book in the series.

7th Circle (Hades #1) by Tate James: Well, I couldn’t finish ‘Madison Kate’ and not get a start on this series. I haven’t started it yet and I might wait till it’s finished – but I’m excited to see where this story is taken. I have heard there are some major cliffhangers here.

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) by Laura Thalassa: I still haven’t got to this one! I know, I know and I will. Most likely in the coming weeks. I’m excited to read it that is for sure. I just haven’t been in the mood for it.

Fire in His Blood (Fireblood Dragons #1) by Ruby Dixon: This is another one that has been on here a while. I don’t much romance fantasy, but I am starting to delve into it. And this just sounds like it’s going to be fun. And that makes me excited.

The Magic of Discovery (Emerald Lakes #1) by Britt Andrews: This popped up on TikTok a few times now and it’s been popping up in my Goodreads timeline so why not! It sounds really interesting and it caught my eye. I haven’t heard too much about it or the series, but sometimes I find some gems.

Rhapsodic (The Bargainer #1) by Laura Thalassa: This sounds so intriguing. I’ve heard some fabulous thing about it and I’m always up for trying something different in my romance reading. I don’t know when I’m going to get to this, but hopefully soon.

Weightless by Kandi Steiner: I don’t know really anything about this one. But I have enjoyed Kandi Steiner’s books before. It sounds really interesting. And quite a few people that I follow have read and loved it, so there is hope! Solely contemporary romances aren’t something that I read a lot of. But I have liked them.

Music of the Night (Tower Knights #1) by Angela J. Ford: This got pitched to me as Phantom of the Opera meets Beauty and the Beast and dame I never knew I needed that. It sounds absolutely fantastic and gosh I’m so excited to read it.

Just Drop Out (Hannaford Prep #1) by J. Bree: This is a recent addition to my tbr and I’m not sure how it’s going to go. This is very much out of what I normally read. It’s got that bully romance feel and I’m not a massive fan, but it also sounds intriguing – so I’m going to give it a go.

The Power of Hades (The Hades Trials #1) by Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson: I’ve been on a massive mythology kick recently and when Ely showed me this one I needed to add it to my tbr. It sounds like it’s going to be dark, sexy and so addicting and I’m ready for it.

And there we go! Those are the current KU books that I have on my tbr! Have you read any of these? What did you think? What’s a book or series you have loved from KU? Let’s Chat!

The only book I’ve read on your list is Pestilence! I really love the Four Horseman series. I’ve never been so conflicted about love interest in my life!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
