Dec 14, 2021

This week I’m sharing the books on my summer tbr Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

There are so many books that I want to read. So many. But today I’m sharing the books that I hope to get to in the next few months. We are currently in summer here in Australia and the weather is very strange here in Melbourne. I do like to read more summery reads this time of year, but I’m a mood reader and things change all the time.

Anyway, let’s get into it. There is a mix of new releases, books that have been on my tbr for a while and books that have caught my eye recently. There are also some new kinda reads for me and I’m excited. As always these are in no order.

Electric Idol (Dark Olympus #2) by Katee Robert | Twisted Games (Twisted #2) by Ana Huang | Angels’ Blood (Guild Hunter #1) by Nalini Singh | The Sweetest Oblivion (Made #1) by Danielle Lori.

Beastars, Vol. 1 (BEASTARS #1) by Paru Itagaki | The Way of the Househusband, Vol. 1 (極主夫道 / Gokushufudō #1) by Kousuke Oono, Sheldon Drzka |  Portrait of a Scotsman (A League of Extraordinary Women #3) by Evie Dunmore | Iron Widow (Iron Widow #1) by Xiran Jay Zhao.

Famine (The Four Horsemen #3) by Laura Thalassa |  A Deal with the Elf King (Married to Magic #1) by Elise Kova.

And there we go. Those are some of the books on my summer tbr. These are the books that I am hoping to read in the next few months. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? What do you want to read? Let’s Chat!

Books I Currently Have Out With Kindle Unlimited

Books I Currently Have Out With Kindle Unlimited

Dec 12, 2021

I haven’t done one of these in a while so I thought I would share the books that I currently have out with kindle unlimited. If you didn’t know already, they have increased the number of books you can borrow at the one time and I have taken full advantage of it.

Some of these books you might have seen before, some are new to the list. Because I am a mood reader, I love borrowing a whole heap and then I have something to read for every mood. Anyway, let’s get into it, as always these are in no order.

The Complete Kit Davenport Series (Kit Davenport #1-6.5) by Tate James | Famine (The Four Horsemen #3) by Laura Thalassa. | Ivan (Underworld #1) by Sophie Lark | Snow (Underworld #2) by Sophie Lark.

Demon Pack (Demon Pack #1) by Jaymin Eve and Everly Frost | Noc City (Noc City #1) by Penn Cassidy. | Deserted (Shadow Beast Shifters #4) by Jaymin Eve | The Stopover (The Miles High Club #1) by T.L. Swan.

Collided (Dirty Air #2) by Lauren Asher | Queen Takes Triune (Their Vampire Queen #6) by Joely Sue Burkhart. | The Affair (The Evolution of Sin Trilogy #1) by Giana Darling | The Sweetest Oblivion (Made #1) by Danielle Lori.

And there we go. Those are the books that I currently have out with kindle unlimited. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? What should I read next? Let’s Chat!

New-To-Me Authors I Discovered In 2021

New-To-Me Authors I Discovered In 2021

Dec 9, 2021

I love discovering new-to-me authors and 2021 was the year for it. I read so many new authors this year and it was just fantastic. There were a lot of reasons why I read so many new-to-me authors this year, but mainly TikTok was the drive.

Some of these authors I’ve only read one book and some I’ve read nearly their whole backlist. I have this bad habit that if a series is completed I will most likely finish it in a few days/weeks depending on the series. Espeically if it’s on Kindle Unlimited. As most of the year has gone by, pretty much all of these authors write romance. but I love it.

Anyway, let’s get right into it. Here are some of the authors that I discovered in 2021 that were new to me. As always these are in no order.

Ali Hazelwood: I just finished The Love Hypothesis recently and adored it, so I’m so ready to read more from Ali Hazelwood. I can’t keep this one in-store at all, I sold out the weekend I got it in.

Kathryn Moon: I think Kathryn Moon has become one of my favourite authors and I cannot wait till I can read more from her. Lola and the Millionaires is one of my favourite books that I have read this year and I seriously want more people to read them.

Dana Isaly: Another author that I discovered because of Tiktok, that I have come to really enjoy. Very steamy, dark and a little taboo. Dana’s books are great to just read and escape.

Sophie Lark: I just started to read Sophie Lark recently, but I have enjoyed each book I’ve read so far. I’ve read all the Brutal Birthright series, as well as the first two in the Kingmakers series. I’m really excited to keep on reading more.

Candace Robinson and Amber R. Duell: I discovered this duo via Ely and let me tell you I love their Faries of Oz series so much. If you like fae as well as the Wizard of Oz, pick this series up.

Scarlett St. Clair: I have read a few books now from Scarlett St. Clair and I have enjoyed them all. I know they are not for everyone, but if you like darker romances with vampires then her newest release is for you!

R.M. Virtues: This author has been on my list for a little while now but finally got to reading Drag Me Up, and I really enjoyed it a lot. So I am really looking forward to reading more and more from them.

Tate James: I went through 2 series of Tates this year and I plan to read more next year. I love the grittiness of her romances. They aren’t clean, they are sharp and tangles and it’s great.

And there we go, those are some of the new-to-me authors that I read in 2021. Have you read any of these authors? What did you think? Are you planning too? Let’s chat!

Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Vict Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Victoria Wilder’s Bourbon Boys series, and as soon as I heard she was writing a new series, around whiskey and women. Well, hell year. It took me a little bit to get into the book, but after a few chapters, I was hooked.

Wyn is hiding, hiding from everyone, even when she is there. She is hiding behind so much, and damn, I don’t blame her. We don’t know everything from the start, but we start piecing things together, and my heart broke. And I was terrified for her. But she is a Crowne woman, and that means something.

We’ve met Julian before, and while he intrigued me before, I am invested now. He is charming, secretive in the best way and will do anything at this point for Wyn. But he is also lost, and somehow he finds his way to Rumour and back into Wyn’s life.

The romance is hot and steamy and everything that you want. The tension and chemistry in this one is high. Neither Wyn nor Julian wants to really give in or give up on one another, but a lot is standing in their way, honestly, mainly themselves. I just sat there giggling half the time because they are swoon-worthy.

I would say this is the darkest Victoria Wilder book I’ve read, so double-check those trigger warnings before jumping in because there is a lot that happens. And I don’t think it’s going to die down any time soon because these Crowne women are badass, and I know things are only just getting started.

Overall, Rumors & Whiskey is hot and sexual. The tension is dripping off the page, and then you are thrown into the terror and horrors of Rumour. You don’t know what is going to happen next, you don’t know who to trust, and there are so many more secrets that have yet to be revealed. I know I am ready for more. Are you?

Thank you to @atriabooksaus for an earc of Rumors & Whiskey 🥃. I’m in love.

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!
