The 1989 Book Tag
I love Taylor Swift. If you have me on twitter then you would probably know that. I think she is pretty amazing. I have seen her 3 times in concert before and I am seeing her again in December. Anyway, I saw this tag pop up and I knew that I had to do it. So here it is.
The 1989 Book Tag was created by the lovely Reviews from a Bookworm. (and I am very happy she did.) Song lyrics match up to questions. The songs used are from her most recent album 1989 (which I must say, that I adore).
You can want who you want, boys and boys and girls and girls.
1. A book with LGBT theme
For this I had to go with the Mortal instrument series by Cassandra Clare – because Alec and Mangus, my heart. They are just perfect together. They may not be the main characters but they do steal the show a lot fo the time.
You can tell me when it’s over if the high was worth the pain.
2. A book that hit you right in the feels… but was totally worth it.
Paperweight by Meg Haston gave me so many feels. All I wanted to do to the main character was hug and hold her tight. I cried a little bit – but I cry at so many things that I am not surprised. You can read my review here.

3. A book that you hated but you loved the cover
An inheritance of Ashes by Leah Bobet. Okay I didn’t hate this book but I didn’t love it. The cover though is gorgeous. You can check out my review here.

4. Your latest book boyfriend/girlfriend
This is a tie between Mangus Chase from The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan and Chet Falconer from Dangerous lies by Becca Fitzpatrick

5. A timeless classic that you love
Harry Potter – does anything else need to be said. I grew up with it and will read it again and again for as long as I can.
The rest of the world is black and white, but we were in screaming colour.
6. A book which had vivid world building.
I haven’t read that many books recently that had amazing world building, which makes me really up upset. Because world building is my best friend. But The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Cinder starts the world off well and as the series goes on, it gets bigger, better and more frightening.
The monsters turned out to be just trees.
7. A book where things weren’t exactly how they seemed.
There is no questions asked, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is the book for this. If you have read it you will know what I mean. You have no idea what to believe, who to believe, if anything is really happening. You can read my review here.
You were all I wanted… but not like this.
8. A book you were eagerly anticipated, but ended up being disappointed by.
I loved My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick so I was really excited when What I Thought was True was coming out but I ended up being a little disappointed. I liked it but didn’t love it.
The haters gonna hate…
9. A book/series that everyone seems to love but you can’t help but hate.
Okay, so I don’t hate these books. But I couldn’t think of another series. I don’t really like the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. In saying that I have only read the first book and I am planning to read the whole series before November. I actually really like Sarah’s writing and the world that she started to build. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. However I really disliked the romance aspect – I really don’t like love triangles and I know things that happen further on in the series – anyway.
10. A book/series you love but everyone else seems to hate.
I love the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. I read it nearly 6 years and I love it just as much. Because come on Patch. Yes, there were some problems but overall I really loved the series.
I wish you knew I’ll never forget you as long as I live.
11. A book/series you know you will always love.
I would say Harry Potter but I want to do something different, because you know me I would always choose Harry Potter. But I think I will always love The Pushing the Limits Series by Katie McGarry. It’s amazing and beautiful and I wish it would go on and on.

12. An upcoming release you wish you could have right now!
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. Because it’s Cassie and the snippets that are coming out are soo good.
Now we’ve got bad blood, you know it used to be mad love.
13. A character you once loved but grew to hate.
Tris from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. I liked her at the start but as time went she got so annoying and got on my nerves so much.
Did you have to do this, I was thinking that you could be trusted.Did you have to ruin what was shiny, now it’s all rusted.
14. An author you haven’t forgiven for the things they did to your favourite characters/books.
Cough…Cough. J.K Rowling, enough said.
I can see the end as it begins.
15. A book that was far too predictable.
I cannot think of anything at the moment – maybe Gambit by C.L Denault – but I still reallt enjoyed the book. You can read my review here.
Nothing lasts forever but this is getting good now.
16. A book/series that you wish could have gone on forever.
Again, Harry Potter because come on, why not?

17. One of your favourite books where they ‘got the girl’
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. It’s beautiful and my heart…all the feels. It’s so adorable, I might give a re-read soon.

18. A book that completely shocked you.
A Small Madness by Dianne Touchell. Wow what a book.
Loves a fragile little flame it could burn out.
19. A book you thought you loved but quickly came to hate.
ADirft by Paul Griffin. I didn’t hate the book but I didn’t love it. I thought I was going to like it more than I did. You can read my review here

20. A book you didn’t want to be seen reading.
Fifty Shades of Grey. I’m not even going to read it.
The drought was the very worst, when the flowers that we’d grown together died of first.
21. When the wait between books made you forget everything that happened.
Any books! Unless I start the series late and read the book just before the next book comes out.
By morning, gone was any trace of you, I think I am finally clean.
22. A book/series you wiped from your memory.
The Divergent Trio, again because come on Allegiant. The ending was just arrrg and the book in general.
