Welcome to Week 4 of the Favourite Protagonist Battle. This week voting continues after, you all voting from your favourite protagonist from the battles of last week! Thank you for all being amazing.

Vampire Academy:

As you all know, I love Vampire Academy, so I couldn’t stop myself from reading the graphic novels. They actually the first graphic novels that I have ever read. I loved the drawings. They were brilliant. Seeing everything brought to life, but still in book form was really different to me. I really enjoyed seeing someone else’s interpretation of how the characters look. Everyone was pretty close to how I imagined except maybe for Lissa, whom I didn’t imagine as rough looking as she is in the graphic novel. I also like how the story was changed a little here and there.

Frostbite:

The Frostbite graphic novel is even better than Vampire Academy Graphic Novel. The illustrations are even better as we have all those keys scenes. I also like that we get a prologue explaining what had happened in the last book as well as information about a few of the main characters. I also love that we get those Rose and Dimitri moments. I really liked that we get to see the emotions on the characters faces. Even though we can read the emotions in the books, in the graphic novels we can see it. The scene in which mason dies followed by the strigoi is pretty gruesome but real.

Shadow Kiss:

The covers of all the graphic novels are gorgeous, but there is something about the Shadow Kiss cover that stands out. Maybe it’s the cover or maybe its emotions expressed on Rose and Dimitri’s faces. Again, like the Frostbite Graphic Novel, I liked that there is a prologue explaining the other 2 books. It just gives us a reminder as to what happened. I love that we get to see the Christian and Rose banter just as it was in the novel. I really like how it is expressed how they treat each other. I love the humour *cough cough* the way Christian is drawn on page 8 of the graphic novel. The ending is just as heartbreaking as it is in the book. The illustrations just like the other books, are amazing.
