Indie Romance Books That I Have Loved

Indie Romance Books That I Have Loved

Jul 21, 2022

As you may know, I’m doing the Indie Accords Readathon this month – which you can check out more here. So today I thought I would share the indie books I’ve enjoyed reading over the last few years and think that you may like as well.

This list isn’t everything. I have read a lot of indie and self-published books over the last 3 years especially. But these are the ones I’ve really enjoyed and want to share with you all. As I mostly read indie romance books, I’ve decided to just include those in this post today.

Just a quick note, please check the trigger warnings for each of these books. There are some dark romances, and other triggering content mentioned in some of these books.

Another thing if it’s a series, I’ve just shared the whole series, rather than each book in the series. If’s a standalone book in a series, with no continuous story, I’ve only shared which book I’ve loved.

So let’s get into it. These are the indie and self-published romances that I have loved reading. As always these are in no real order.

Books I Haven’t Read From My Favourite Authors

Books I Haven’t Read From My Favourite Authors

Jul 19, 2022

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie, so I thought I would do a past topic and share the books from some of my favourite authors that I haven’t read yet.

This was such an interesting post to do. Not only am I sharing some of the authors that I love, but also putting a tbr together for the books that I hope to read soon. There are a lot of books out there. And some of the authors that I love have written a lot. Which means I haven’t read all of their backlists. There are also authors that I have only discovered recently, so I am slowly making my way through their books.

So today I’m sharing some of the books from my favourite authors that I haven’t had the chance to read next. As always these are in no order.

Sacrifice (Bloodline Vampires #1) by Katee Robert | The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros. | Archangel’s Kiss (Guild Hunter #2) by Nalini Singh | Bombshell (Hell’s Belles #1) by Sarah MacLean.

He’s a Brute (Tough Love #1) by Chloe Liese | A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor (Tempting Monsters #1) by Kathryn Moon | Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry | Honey Trap (The Guild #1) by Tate James.

The Truth About Lord Stoneville (Hellions of Halstead Hall #1) by Sabrina Jeffries | Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune.

And there we go. Those are the books from my favourite authors that I haven’t read yet but I’m really looking forward to reading. Have you read any of these books? What did you think? What books and authors would make it to your list? Let’s chat!

Indie Accords Check In

Indie Accords Check In

Jul 17, 2022

As I’m writing this we are at the halfway point of the Indie Accords. The Indie Accords Readathon last the whole month of July and it’s all about reading and sharing the love for indie and self-published books. If you want to check out more about the readathon and see my tbr from the start of the month, check out my tbr post and introduction.

Today is the halfway mark, so I thought I would share some updates from the readathon. As of the 15th, I have read 11 books, have had a blackout bingo and am already on the way to getting another blackout bingo.

I’ve read 6 books from my original tbr and plan to read a few more in the coming days. While I would have loved to stick to all my books from my tbr, I’m a mood reader and I knew that I was going to stray from it. So I don’t feel too bad about it. So let’s get into what I’ve read so far.

Savage Lover (Brutal Birthright #3) by Sophie Lark – 4 Stars Reread | Little Taste of Need (Creature Cafe #7) by Clio Evans – 3.5 Stars. | Resurrection (The Sainthood – Boys of Lowell High #1) by Siobhan Davis – 3.5 Stars | Rebellion (The Sainthood – Boys of Lowell High #2) by Siobhan Davis  – 3.5 Stars.

Little Risk of Fall (Creature Cafe #8) by Clio Evans – 3 Stars | Lovelight Farms (Lovelight #1) by B.K. Borison – 4 Stars. | Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) by Nalini Singh – 4 Stars | The Beast (Wicked Villains #4) by Katee Robert.

Reign (The Sainthood – Boys of Lowell High #3) by Siobhan Davis – 3.5 Stars |  That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon (Mead Mishaps #1) by Kimberly Lemming. – 4 Stars | Ablaze (The Firecracker Cousins #2) by A.H. Cunningham 3.5 Stars.

So those are all the books I’ve read so far. I’m really happy with how I’m going. I’m hoping that I can get another blackout bingo in the next 2 weeks. I think I can do it for sure. Here is how I’m going with all the prompts. I’ve decided to share mine like this, simply because I am reading a lot more than the bingo sheet.

And there we go. That’s my mid-month check-in for the Indie Accords! Are you participating in this readathon? What have you read? I’m having so much. Not only do I have an excuse to read more indie, but I get to talk about it as well. Let’s Chat!

Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Vict Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Victoria Wilder’s Bourbon Boys series, and as soon as I heard she was writing a new series, around whiskey and women. Well, hell year. It took me a little bit to get into the book, but after a few chapters, I was hooked.

Wyn is hiding, hiding from everyone, even when she is there. She is hiding behind so much, and damn, I don’t blame her. We don’t know everything from the start, but we start piecing things together, and my heart broke. And I was terrified for her. But she is a Crowne woman, and that means something.

We’ve met Julian before, and while he intrigued me before, I am invested now. He is charming, secretive in the best way and will do anything at this point for Wyn. But he is also lost, and somehow he finds his way to Rumour and back into Wyn’s life.

The romance is hot and steamy and everything that you want. The tension and chemistry in this one is high. Neither Wyn nor Julian wants to really give in or give up on one another, but a lot is standing in their way, honestly, mainly themselves. I just sat there giggling half the time because they are swoon-worthy.

I would say this is the darkest Victoria Wilder book I’ve read, so double-check those trigger warnings before jumping in because there is a lot that happens. And I don’t think it’s going to die down any time soon because these Crowne women are badass, and I know things are only just getting started.

Overall, Rumors & Whiskey is hot and sexual. The tension is dripping off the page, and then you are thrown into the terror and horrors of Rumour. You don’t know what is going to happen next, you don’t know who to trust, and there are so many more secrets that have yet to be revealed. I know I am ready for more. Are you?

Thank you to @atriabooksaus for an earc of Rumors & Whiskey 🥃. I’m in love.

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!
