Books With Epilogues I Love | TTT

Books With Epilogues I Love | TTT

Jun 14, 2022

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday it’s all about epilogues. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I’m definitely in the norm here and I really do enjoy epilogues, especially in my romances. I love seeing the characters that we have followed, months or even years in advance. I love seeing where they are, and what they have done with their lives. And where they are going.

This week’s topic was originally ‘books I wished had epilogues’ but since I couldn’t really think of any. I’m sharing the books that have epilogues I love.

So let’s get into it. These are the books that have epilogues that I love. And as always these are in no real order.

Hallowed Ground (Flight & Glory #4) by Rebecca Yarros | Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas | Finale (Academy of Stardom #4) by Bea Paige. | War (The Four Horsemen #2) by Laura Thalassa.

Lola & the Millionaires: Part Two (Sweet Omegaverse #3) by Kathryn Moon | Long Way Home (Thunder Road #3) by Katie McGarry. | Timber (Hades #4) by Tate James | Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata.

The Rebel King (All the King’s Men #2) by Kennedy Ryan. | Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

And there we go. Those are the books that have epilogues that I have really enjoyed and loved. What epilogues have you enjoyed? Are any of the books the same as mine? Let’s Chat!

Reading The Highest-Rated Books On My TBR

Reading The Highest-Rated Books On My TBR

Jun 12, 2022

I did a post like this a little while ago, but I thought it would be fun to do it again. So today I’m sharing my thoughts on 3 of the highest-rated books on my tbr. I found this round really interesting and I cannot wait to share my thoughts with you.

But before we get into that, there were a few rules that I had set myself. I picked the books from my Goodreads tbr. And if you have been here before you know that I don’t use my Goodreads tbr for just the books that I own. So firstly the book has to have over 1000 reviews. This just means it was fairer in the rating. Secondly, it had to be the first book in a series or one that I could read as a standalone. And the last thing was that I had to either; own the book, it is a decent price on kindle or it is on kindle unlimited. I didn’t want to really buy any books, so I had to compromise a little.

Because of all this, the books that I read with the highest-rated on my GoodReads tbr were; Me + Somebody’s Son: A Heights Story by Christina C. Jones, The Words by Ashley Jade and Broken Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #1) by J. Bree.

Now that you know the books let’s get into what I thought about them. I had a lot of fun doing this. It was a great way for me to get out of my slight reading slump, but also knock off some books that I have wanted to read for a while.

Me + Somebody’s Son: A Heights Story by Christina C. Jones with a 4.51-star rating from 1125 reviews.

This novella has been on my tbr for a while now. A went on a novella binge a little while ago and this was added to my tbr during that time. I was intrigued by the plot of this book from the start. And I knew I wanted something short just to get me back in reading. And this is what this book did.

The romance was fantastic and while it was a novella, I didn’t feel like I was missing a whole lot. I did want to see our protagonists interact a little more. I just wanted a little more communication between the two. But it was still a really enjoyable read.

The romance was hot, the protagonist was fantastic and overall it was a great read. It ended up being a 4-star read for me. So that is pretty much spot on with everyone else.

The Words by Ashley Jade with a 4.45-star rating from 13, 554 reviews.

I don’t know where to begin with this book. I honestly don’t know has it has such a high rating. Normally I’m on the same page with a lot of people about books, but this one. And if I wasn’t reading this book for this post, I would most likely not have finished this book.

There isn’t much to say about this book. I was intrigued by the plot and I think that is what kept me going. But the romance? The romance was just so toxic. Lennon and Phoenix are so bad for one another, they just push each other all the wrong ways.

I enjoyed the first part of the novel, even then I did have quite a few problems with it. But the second part was just a mess. And the fact that this book was nearly 700 pages.  It was just so boring, and toxic and I didn’t know what was happening half the time. I wanted to like this book, but I couldn’t. I ended up giving it 2 stars.

Broken Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #1) by J. Bree with a 4.48-star rating from 11.417 reviews.

This book has been on my tbr for some time now. But I just haven’t been in the mood to pick it up. This post was a great push for me. And I’m glad that I did. Because I ended up really enjoying this book.

Now I’m not going to lie, I was a little confused for quite some time in the book. Mostly about how the world works, what the gifts mean, and what are the bonds. But as the book went on I found out a little more. I’m still not solid on the world, but I am getting there.

There wasn’t much of a romance in this book, which did surprise me. I do feel that things will heat up in the second book. It is a reverse harem book, as our protagonist has multiple bonds, and most of them are arseholes at this point. But I’m excited to see where it’s taken.

Overall, this is a solid 3.5 rating for me. And maybe if I understood the world a little more it would be a little higher. But I’m excited to read more.

And there we go. That is what I think of the highest-rated books that were on my tbr. Have you read any of these books? what did you think of them? Are you planning on reading them? Let’s chat!

My Current Libro.fm TBR

My Current Libro.fm TBR

Jun 9, 2022

After seeing Ely share her latest Libro.fm books I thought I would share some of the books that are currently on my tbr with Libro.fm.

Libro.fm is a platform where you can purchase audiobooks from local bookstores. Since it’s a US-based program, it doesn’t work for me. However as I’m part of their ACL program, I receive free audiobooks in exchange for talking about them.

So let’s get right into it. Here are the books that are currently on my tbr from Libro.fm. There is a range of different audiobooks here and I’m excited to get into my next one. Okay, here we go.

A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall | Book Lovers by Emily Henry | Together We Burn by Isabel Ibañez | I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston.

The Lost Dreamer by Lizz Huerta | The Atlas Six (The Atlas #1) by Olivie Blake  | A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings | Bright Burning Things by Lisa Harding.

The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova | The Dating Dare (A Sweet Mess #2) by Jayci Lee.

And there we go. Those are the audiobooks that I currently have from libro.fm. Have you listen to any of these? What did you think of them? Let’s Chat!

Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Vict Yeah, this is what I wanted. I really enjoyed Victoria Wilder’s Bourbon Boys series, and as soon as I heard she was writing a new series, around whiskey and women. Well, hell year. It took me a little bit to get into the book, but after a few chapters, I was hooked.

Wyn is hiding, hiding from everyone, even when she is there. She is hiding behind so much, and damn, I don’t blame her. We don’t know everything from the start, but we start piecing things together, and my heart broke. And I was terrified for her. But she is a Crowne woman, and that means something.

We’ve met Julian before, and while he intrigued me before, I am invested now. He is charming, secretive in the best way and will do anything at this point for Wyn. But he is also lost, and somehow he finds his way to Rumour and back into Wyn’s life.

The romance is hot and steamy and everything that you want. The tension and chemistry in this one is high. Neither Wyn nor Julian wants to really give in or give up on one another, but a lot is standing in their way, honestly, mainly themselves. I just sat there giggling half the time because they are swoon-worthy.

I would say this is the darkest Victoria Wilder book I’ve read, so double-check those trigger warnings before jumping in because there is a lot that happens. And I don’t think it’s going to die down any time soon because these Crowne women are badass, and I know things are only just getting started.

Overall, Rumors & Whiskey is hot and sexual. The tension is dripping off the page, and then you are thrown into the terror and horrors of Rumour. You don’t know what is going to happen next, you don’t know who to trust, and there are so many more secrets that have yet to be revealed. I know I am ready for more. Are you?

Thank you to @atriabooksaus for an earc of Rumors & Whiskey 🥃. I’m in love.

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!
