Infernal Read-a-long

Welcome, welcome to The Infernal Read-a-Long. Now you ask what that may be? Well, the lovely Ely from Tea and Titles and I thought it was time that we re-read The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. But we thought why not include you!

So for the next 3 months, we are going to re-read these beauties by Cassandra Clare. Each month will be one book starting with Clockwork Angel in April, followed by Clockwork Prince in May and then finally Clockwork Princess in June.

At the end of each month, we will be doing a wrap-up discussion post of each book. As we both have read these before we know things that happen. I think this will be my 3rd read of the series, but I am so excited and cannot wait.

You, of course, are welcome to join. Use the hashtag #theinfernalreadalong. We will be chatting over on twitter using the hashtag over the next couple of months. Our links are below, so don’t forget to follow us for updates throughout.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them…

5th Birthday Angel Reads

I cannot believe that I am here! It’s crazy to think that this year will be my 6th year of blogger. I cannot fathom, that I have been doing it this long because it doesn’t feel it. This isn’t going to be a big post, but I just wanted to say a couple of things.

I started Angel Reads in 2012 when I was 15 years old, I’m now 20. I was in high school when I started Angel Reads. Now I’m in my second degree at university. When I started Angel Reads I was over on blogger minding my business, now I love how my blog looks and can look at it all the time

When I started I didn’t think I would be working in the book industry. Now I’ve been studying it, had an internship and have amazing opportunities.

When I started Angel Reads I didn’t have great friends, now, now I have amazing friends that I have met because of Angel Reads. When I started here, I only wanted to write about the books that I read. Now I love doing it. I love sharing my thoughts, hearing back from you. I love having fun with books, I love reading them, I love blogging.

Now that it’s my 5th birthday, all I can say is THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone that has stood by me, that follows me, that comments. That listen’s to the weird things I say on social media. Thank you for reading my reviews, for commenting. It’s amazing really. I didn’t think that I would be here, doing this still.

5th Birthday Angel Reads

I would like to thank a few people personally that have been there by my side. Ely from Tea and Titles. I have known this girl nearly as long as I have been blogging. But last year we grew closer and she is one of the most trusted friends that I have and I don’t know what I would do without her. Michelle from Tea and Titles, we didn’t really become friends until last year, but again this girl is a rock and helps me way too much. And all the other Melbourne booknerds, because I wouldn’t have such fun at events and late night twitter chats without you.

Once again thank you and bring on many more years to come.

Welcome to Disability Diaries 2017

Welcome to Disability Diaries 2017

Jan 14, 2017

Welcome, welcome to Disability Diaries. A couple of months ago I announced that this week will be all about disabilities in books. Where I will be focusing on young adult books. Disability Diaries is not only promoting good representations but the need for both physical and mental illness.

This week from me you will be seeing reviews, recommendations posts and a very personal one. I cannot wait to share everything with you guys. Joining me as hosts this week is Ely @ Tea and Titles, Cee Arr @ Diary of a Reading Addict, Dina @ Dinasoaur, Jolien @ The Fictional Reader, and Lara @ Another Teen Reader.

The promotion for disabilities in Young Adult books is something that I am very passionate about. It’s something that I care about and want to see more of. I want to be able to pick up a YA novel and there be someone in there, that is like me. That doesn’t mean they have to have the same disability as me. However, they are also not this perfect person with nothing wrong with them. I want to be able to spread the awareness of disabilities and share more of it in YA. Create diversity in what we see and how it is portrayed.

If you would love to join in on the conversation then please fill in the google form below.  You don’t have to sign up, to enjoy our posts. But if you’d like to contribute your own posts during the event, it means we can share your posts much easier.

However, you don’t have to sign up to participate. You can find me on twitter at @angel_reads, Facebook, instagram, tumblr and Goodreads. You can also follow Angel Reads on Bloglovin and via email (in the sidebar)

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
