This week I’m sharing Books I LOVED with Fewer than 2,000 Ratings on Goodreads Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie so I decided to pick an older topic and have a little fun with it. I love sharing books that not many people have read but I have loved. It’s a great way for people to read something that hasn’t caught their eye or they haven’t seen before. So today I’m sharing books that I have loved that have fewer than 2,000 ratings on Goodreads! From romance to young adult and more. Like always these are in no order.

A Widow’s Guide to Scandal (The Sons of Neptune #1) by Hallie Alexander: I just finished this one a few days ago, and now I need more people to read it. The romance was adorable. I loved when the book was set. The characters were great. And it looks like it’s going to be a fantastic series. I can’t wait to read more.

Dalliances & Devotion (The Truitts #2) by Felicia Grossman: While I didn’t love this one as much as book one, it is still a fantastic read. It was fun, intense and full of romance. With a female character that is strong and willing to do what it takes for herself. I loved Amaila and I got to like David as well. Together they were adorable.

All the Little Bones (Circus Hearts #1) by Ellie Marney: You all know that I love Ellie Marney and this series is so much fun. It’s not for everyone, but I wish that more people would pick it up because it is fantastic.

This Beats Perfect (This Beats Perfect #1) by Rebecca Denton: I read this one a few years ago now, but I had so much fun reading it. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. It was fun, addicting and put a smile on my face. It explores the notions of finding yourself, loving what you do and finding those who will stand by you.

Making Friends with Alice Dyson by Poppy Nwosu: I’ve talked about this one a few times on Angel Reads, and I will keep on talking about it. It’s a sweet story that looks at friendships, the most adorable romance, and the strength of opening up. Everything about this book is tender and sweet but also packs a punch. This is a fantastic debut that is brilliant and soft, and I finished it with a massive smile. It’s coming on in the US soon, so hopefully, more people will read it.

This is How We Change the Ending by Vikki Wakefield: This is one of my favourites books this year and I wish more people would pick it up. This book made me feel so many things from anger to hope. From sadness to being proud. This poignant coming of age story that captures the lives of those that struggle day by day. That tries to make the best of what they have.

You’re Still the One (Country Blues #1) by Rachel Harris: I love reading Rachel Harris’ books and this is one of my favourites. The romance is adorable, the characters are fantastic and it’s a blast to read. It has all the Rachel Harris swoon-worthy moments and had me flipping page after page.

The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling by Wai Chim: An empowering novel that explores family, mental health and trying to find your own feet. And while there is darkness in this novel and sometimes you feel like there is no hope. There is also warmth. It has one of the cutest romances every. Anna and Rory were absolutely adorable together. They made my heart scream it was so beautiful.

Marked (Sailor’s Grave #1) by Drew Elyse: All three books in this series have fewer than 2000 each and I think they deserve so much more. The romances are interesting and unique from one another. I really enjoy that this series is connected with her other series and characters pop in and out. I can’t wait to read more from Drew Elyse.

Book Events/Festivals I’d Love to Go to Someday

This week I’m sharing Book Events/Festivals I’d Love to Go to Someday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

At the moment this is such a hard post to write. We have no idea when everything is going to go back to normal. I can’t even leave my state at the moment let alone the country. I was supposed to be going to Disney World in September and that isn’t happening. But this post has also been fun because I get to share events and festivals that I can’t wait to go to when the world is slightly back to normal.

I’ve ever been to bookish events and festivals in Australia. While most of them have been Melbourne. I have travel a few times to go to other events.

BookExpo: It has been my dream for years to go to BEA. I think it’s a lot of bloggers dream to go there. And since I’ve become a bookseller, it’s something that I want to do even more. It sounds like it’s going to be crazy and fun. And an amazing experience. I know I will get there once day, but I also know I will need to bring another 2 suitcases just for books. And that sounds exciting. I want to go to panels and see and meet all of these amazing authors. It will be such an incredible experience.

BookCon: I can’t go to BEA and not go to BookCon. While this seems like it’s going to be 10x busier. I just want to do it once. But I think I will be ready for it. Like BEA, I can’t wait to see all the panels and meet all the authors. We don’t get many international authors here in Australia. We only get them from time to time and I would most likely pass out from how many that I’m seeing.

YallFest/YallWest: This is another one that I really do want to go to. But then I can’t even choose which one out of the two. I wish they were closer together so I could go to both. But I guess it will depend on who is going to which that might help me pick.

Cassandra Clare: I want to go to anything that I will get to meet Cassandra Clare in. She has come to Australia twice, that I know of. The first time I had only just started reading her books and I wasn’t really on social media. The second time, she didn’t come to my state and it was too had at that time for me to see her.

YALC: You should all know by now, how much I love the UK and I would love to go to any bookish events there, but YALC is high on my list. Again it features YA authors from around the world and that just sounds like so much fun.

Any book festival: I love going to book festivals. And there so happens to be in the place that I’m going then there is no doubt I will be there. They are fun and interesting and I want to go more around the world. Maybe I can just do it for one year and go to as many as possible.

Book Bonanza Event: I really want to start going to more romance bookish events and this one is high on my list. It has so many romance authors I can’t even begin to tell you. I just look at the lists each year and stare. There is so many and they write in so many different genres of romance and it just seems like it would be fantastic.

Ten Books That Make Me Smile | TTT

This week I’m sharing some of the books that have made me smile. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I feel a lot of things when I read. I don’t know what it is but my emotions are amplified when I read. So when books made me cry, I cry. And then there are the books that made me smile. I love those ones, especially when I’m smiling most of the book. It just makes for such a fantastic reading experience.

Books make me smile for many different reasons. From certain scenes to a characters just living their life. And that is one of my favourite things about reading. So today I’m sharing the books that have recently made me smile. Most of these I’ve read this year, but there are also some from previous years. Like always these are in no order.

Project Duchess (Duke Dynasty #1) by Sabrina Jeffries: I spoke about this in my recent discussion about reading more historical romance. But historical romances make me smile a whole damn lot. They are my feel-good book and no matter what I know that when I finish one, I’ll be in a pretty good place. I loved reading this series from Sabrina Jeffries and now I’ve gotten a couple more of her books because I loved them that much.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: There should be no surprise that this one is on my list. It’s the highlight for the year for me. I smiled through the whole book. I couldn’t stop really. The romance, the friendships, the family. It was all so perfect. If you want to know more about it check out my full review.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: I did a re-read of this one this year and gosh does it make me smile. I love the romance, the banter, the friendships. It’s one that I am always recommending at work because gosh it makes me happy and I want others to feel the same way.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1) by Rick Riordan: This was another re-read for me and it never gets old. I re-read the whole series and they are just brilliant. They are funny and entertaining. But they also explore so many other aspects of life.

Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales: This was such a fantastic read. This one really wasn’t on my radar when I first picked it up. But now I try and get customers to buy it all the time. While this does deal with some other issues, it did make me smile a whole damn lot and it was perfect.

Making Friends with Alice Dyson by Poppy Nwosu: The relationship in this one is perfect and even thinking about it makes me smile. Teddy is such a flirt and I love these interactions with Alice – it just makes for some of the best scenes.

Check, Please! Book 1: # Hockey by Ngozi Ukazu: I love this series with every fibre in my body. If you saw me reading this, you would have looked at me strangely for sure. There is just a smile on my face the whole time. My heart just melts the whole time and I’m goo around them.

The Hathaways by Lisa Kleypas: This whole series! That is all I have to say. While I love all the other series I’ve read from Kleypas. This series just had me in the giggles. So much. They warm my heart so much. My favourite from this series has to be Love in the Afternoon.

Man Hands (Man Hands #1) by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby: If you want a rom-com then this series is for you. I was in stitches so much throughout this book. And I’m not a massive rom-com fun. But this was the perfect amount. Nothing too crazy, but still made me laugh – hard.

Chain of Gold (The Last Hours #1) by Cassandra Clare: One of the main reasons why this is on my list was that I didn’t even have to read the book before I was smiling. I loved being back into this world and the characters are so fantastic. This world just makes me smile a lot – it does also make me cry.
