Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020

Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2020

Jun 30, 2020

This week I’m sharing my most anticipated releases fo the second half of 2020.  Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

There has been a lot of release date changes this year. This means books have been pushed back to later in the year. Therefore there are even more books coming out in the second half of 2020. So today I thought I would share some of my most anticipated books for the second half of 2020.

The Extraordinaries (The Extraordinaries #1) by T.J. Klune: I feel in love with The House in the Cerulean Sea earlier this year, so you bet that I need T.J. Kunes new YA. It sounds fantastic and brilliant and I’ve only heard good things about it already. So that sounds pretty good to me.

Now That I’ve Found You by Kristina Forest: At first I wasn’t too sure about this one, but I’ve been hearing some amazing things about it. It sounds like it’s going to be such a fantastic novel. That is both fun and heartfelt.

Inked in Lies (The Fallen Men #5) by Giana Darling: I read the first four books in this series and loved with so much. And I’m so looking forward to this one. It sounds like it’s going to be sexy, heartbreaking. And I need to know more about these men and women.

Blood & Honey (Serpent & Dove #2) by Shelby Mahurin: I absolutely loved Serpent & Dove when I read this last year. And I dying to know what happens next with these characters. But I’m also so nervous. I hope I love it as much as the first book, I really do.

Dear Justyce (Dear Martin #2) by Nic Stone: I read Dear Martin earlier this month and loved it so much. It was heartbreaking and powerful and just kicked me in all the places. I can’t wait to see how this one goes. It’s going to be an interesting voice and I’m looking forward to that.

These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights #1) by Chloe Gong: This one caught my eye from the start time. Any retelling is always on my list of books to check out. Especially ones that have a twist. Plus I’ve already been hearing amazing things about this one. It sounds fantastic.

The Camelot Betrayal (Camelot Rising #2) by Kiersten White: I loved reading The Guinevere Deception earlier this year and now I cannot wait to read more in this world. I also cannot wait to see what Kiersten White does with the characters this time.

Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett: This got pushed back to November, but I’m still as excited to read as I was earlier this year. I love Jenn Bennett’s books and this one sounds like it’s right up my alley. Bad boy romance – hell yes.

You Were Made For Me by Jenna Guillaume: I really enjoyed Jenna’s debut novel, and this one sounds like it’s more for me. I think it’s going to hit the right spot and be such a great book.

None Shall Sleep by Ellie Marney: I could not do this list and not include Ellie Marney’s new book. This normally would not be my jam, but Ellie hasn’t disappointed yet. It sounds like it’s going to be dark, but also addicting.

And that is it for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. What are the books that you are looking forward to coming out in the next couple of months? Let’s Chat!

Still On My TBR | Books From Previous TTT TBR’s

Still On My TBR | Books From Previous TTT TBR’s

TTT Still On My TBR

This week I’m sharing the books that I have featured on previous TTT TBR’s that I still have not read. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I know shame on me. To celebrate the 10th birthday of Top Ten Tuesday we get to jump back in time and either look at TBR’s from the past and see what you haven’t read or re-do an old topic. So I thought I would do the first one.

I’m really bad with TBR’s I never stick to them. I never really plan my month at all. I’ve got an idea of what I want to read. I sorta plan when I’ll be reading arcs, but other than that I never stick to a TBR. So looking back at my previous Top Ten Tuesday TBR’s has been a journey. There is a good chunk of the books that I read. And I want to get through more.

Anyway, I’m sharing 10 books that have previously been on my TTT TBR’s but I haven’t read it! Hopefully, I can get to some of these soon! My plan is to have at least half of these read by the end of the year. Like always these are in no order.

TTT Still On My TBR The How and the Why by Cynthia Hand: I still don’t know how I haven’t read this one yet. I even got the hardback because I was so excited. I just haven’t been in the mood for it. But I’ve just heard so many amazing things about it. And I’ve loved all the Cynthia Hand, books I’ve read so far, so I’m expecting to love it.

The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett: This is another one that I don’t know why I haven’t picked this one up yet. I love all the Jenn Bennett books I’ve read before and this one sounds exactly what I love, so I am excited about it. People that I know and follow love it, so I expect I will be the same.

Girl Out of Water by Laura Silverman: I got this one last year when I was in the states and I cannot wait to read it. I think I might hold off to spring/summer, but I’m really excited to finally pick it up. It just sounds so good. I really do want to pick up more YA romances this year and this sounds like it’s going to be the perfect one.

Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny (Loose Ends #1) by Rebekah Weatherspoon: Ah!! I still can’t believe that I have read this one yet. It sounds fantastic and amazing. It’s been on my TBR for a while now, but I haven’t gotten my copy yet, I think I will need to fix that soon so I can get to read this. A male nanny? What sounds better than that. I’m just excited about a fun book like this.

Cold Summer by Gwen Cole: I featured this one in a TTT a couple of weeks ago so it is popping up more and more. I think I will need to get to it soon for sure. The storyline and plot intrigue me. And I really want to see if it lives up to what I’m hoping.

Am I Normal Yet? (The Spinster Club #1) by Holly Bourne: Why haven’t I read this one yet? I’m not even sure why I haven’t. I have heard nothing but good things about Holly Bourne and this one in particular. It sounds brilliant and fantastic. I’ve heard the rep is amazing and that is what makes me even more excited.

Little Monsters by Kara Thomas: I read a Kara Thomas book a few years ago now and really enjoyed. And this is why I added Little Monsters to my TBR. I don’t read thriller novels a lot, but this one sounds like it’s going to be something that I will like.

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) by V.E. Schwab: This one has been on my TBR for some time now. I’ve read other books from Victoria and loved them so I am intrigued by this series for sure. This has such mix reviews and makes me even more interested. I really do hope that I get to it soon.

In the Dark, In the Woods by Eliza Wass: This is another one that has been on my TBR for some time now, and it’s still something that I interested in for sure. It sounds dark and messy and I’m so up for that. I’ve also seen some fantastic reviews of this one as well.

Thicker Than Water by Brigid Kemmerer: I keep on mention this book in posts and I still haven’t read that. I think I just need to start reading it. I’ve loved every Brigid Kemmerer book that I’ve read so I don’t think this one will be different. I do think it’s something that I will like more now than when I first got it, but I’m going to get to it this year.

And that is it for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! What are the books that you still haven’t read? Have you read any that is on this list? Let’s chat!

Books on My 2020 Winter TBR

Books on My 2020 Winter TBR

Jun 16, 2020

This week I’m sharing books the books what I want to read this winter, with my 2020 winter tbr. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

It’s started to get much colder where I live now and it’s the perfect weather to wrap myself up in my bed and just read. So today I’m sharing books that I want to get through this winter. From books that I’ve had a while to books that I’ve just picked up. Let’s hope that I can read these books soon.

Through the Storm (The Le Veq Family #1) by Beverly Jenkins: I just read my first Beverly Jenkins last week and loved it, and I really want to read more about the family. So I’m hoping to read at least one of the books that centre around the Le Veq family. And I’m excited about that. My library has them all on ebook, so I have them waiting for me.

Fresh Ink: An Anthology edited by Lamar Giles: I bought this one a couple of months ago and I’m slowly making my way through another anthology, but I hope to get to this one as well before the end of winter. I have a lot of trouble finishing an anthology for some reason, but I want to read this one for sure.

Check, Please!, Book 2: Sticks & Scones by Ngozi Ukazu: I’m so excited to pick this one up. I loved the first volume and this one seems like it’s going to be fantastic. I will probably pick this one up really soon. Especially with pride month.

The How and the Why by Cynthia Hand: I got this one just after Christmas last year and I still haven’t had the chance to pick it up. I’ve really enjoyed reading Cynthia Hand in the past and I’m really excited to read this one. I even got a hardcover of it – which I never do, but I didn’t want to wait for the paperback.

Prince Charming (Royals #1) by Rachel Hawkins: This is one of the books that was chosen as part of the best friend picks my TBR, but I also cannot wait to read it. I’ve been slowly making my way through the list and I’m really excited about this one. It sounds exactly what I love and I cannot wait to devour it.

Heartstopper: Volume One (Heartstopper #1) by Alice Oseman: This is another one that I got a little while ago. But I have the first two volumes and I need to get on reading it. It sounds like it’s right up my alley. So many people that I know love it, so I’m really excited about that as well.

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo: I have spoken about this a couple of times now and I’m so excited about this one. It’s yet to come in at work, but I as soon as it does I will be reading it. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. And that makes me really intrigued.

Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson: I’m hoping that this one comes this week into work so I can finally read it. This one has been on my tbr for some time now and I finally ordered it in at work so I can read it. Again I’ve heard such amazing things about Tiffany D. Jackson, especially about this one.

A Duke, the Lady, and a Baby by Vanessa Riley: I’m super excited to pick this one up. It features disability which is rare in historical fiction. It also sounds super interesting and it caught my eye as soon as I read the synopsis. I’m actually hoping to get to this one this week sometime.

You Were Made For Me by Jenna Guillaume: I really enjoyed Jenna’s debut book last year and I’m really excited about this one. It sounds so good. And fun and full of romance and I can’t wait. The romance was one of my favourite parts of What I Like About Me, so I’m really excited to see what she does with it in this one.

And that is it for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! What do you hope to read this winter or summer? Do we have anything that is the same? Let’s Chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
