25 Books I Think You Should Read

25 Books I Think You Should Read

Nov 18, 2021

It’s my birthday! Whoop. I turn 25 today, so I thought I would share the 25 books/series that I think you should all read. While not every book might be for you I hope that you find something here that you will enjoy.

I’ve been reading consistently since I was 12 years ago. I always read before then, but now there isn’t a moment where I’m not reading something. I’ve read so many books in the past 14 years. Add to that I’ve been blogging for nearly 10 years.  I’ve read a lot of different kinds of books. So I thought what other way to celebrate my birthday than getting to talk about books that I love and what others to read.

Nevertheless, as always these are in no particular order. From romance to young adult, fantasy and graphic novels here are the 25 books that I think you should read. Anyway, let’s go!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan | Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor | Heartstopper by Alice Oseman | Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Check, Please! by Ngozi Ukazu| Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits #1) by Katie McGarry | The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski | The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.

Ruined (Ruined #1) by Amy Tintera | The Conqueror’s Saga by Kiersten White | Every Breath (Every #1) by Ellie Marney | Trial by Fire (Worldwalker #1) by Josephine Angelini.

Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo | Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices #1) by Cassandra Clare | Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys  | Rookie Move (Brooklyn Bruisers #1) by Sarina Bowen.

The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros | The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller | With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo | The Duchess Deal (Girl Meets Duke #1) by Tessa Dare.

Psy-Changeling by Nalini Singh | The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune | The Fallen Men by Giana Darling | This is How We Change the Ending by Vikki Wakefield.

Neon Gods (Dark Olympus #1) by Katee Robert

And there we go. Those are 25 books that I think you should read. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading any of them? What books would be on your list? So let’s Chat!

Books That Have Surprised Me Recently

Books That Have Surprised Me Recently

Oct 21, 2021

I’ve read a lot of new-to-me authors and books this year so I thought it would be nice to share some of the books that have surprised me recently. My reading this year has been a wild ride. There are some books that I thought I would like but didn’t. And then there are some that I didn’t know that I was going to love. And when that happens, I love the book even more.

So today I’m sharing some recent reads that really did surprise me.  As most of the books that I have read in 2021 have been romance, this list very much shows that. And most of them are Indie – which makes me even happier. Anyway, let’s get into it. Like always these are in no order.

From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout: This didn’t come as a surprise as such, but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I’ve really enjoyed all other Jennifer L. Armentrout books I’ve read over the years, but with the hype that this series has received, I’ve been hesitant. But I seriously had such a fantastic time reading and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Games We Play (One Night #1) by Dana Isaly: This one really did catch me by surprise. I enjoyed reading Scars but Dana Isaly, but this one took me out of my comfort zone. But I had such a great time reading it. This book will not be for everyone, so please check the content warnings before you do pick it up. I was very hesitant at the start, but by the end, I wanted more.

Rejected (Shadow Beast Shifters #1) by Jaymin Eve: This series has been on my tbr for a little while now, but I hadn’t had the chance to pick it up till recently, and I loved it. I hadn’t read a paranormal romance in a little while and it just reminded me of why I love it so much. Again this series isn’t for everyone. I understand why some people don’t enjoy it.

Lola & the Millionaires: Part One (Sweet Omegaverse #2) by Kathryn Moon: You have probably heard me talk about this duology and series a lot recently. And for good reason. I hadn’t read an omegaverse book before picking this one up, and I kind of feel in love with the world and characters that Kathryn Moon has created. Lola and the Millionaires have this great combo of being, sweet, sexy and dirty.

Queen Takes Knights (Their Vampire Queen #1) by Joely Sue Burkhart: This is another series that surprised me. I was very hesitant to pick this series up because it did have some elements that I wasn’t sure about, but this paranormal romance was fantastic. It’s a reverse harem with all times of paranormal creatures and monsters. And it just hits. Again this will not be for everyone, but each book is pretty short, so it’s a great one to just take a chance on it.

And there we go. Those are just some of the books that have surprised me recently. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading any of them? What books have surprised you this year? Let’s Chat!

Books That I Have Discovered On TikTok and Loved

Books That I Have Discovered On TikTok and Loved

Oct 14, 2021

If you have been around over the last few months you know how much I’m loving Tiktok. I think it’s a fantastic way to interact with new readers and authors. As well as find new books. I think it’s also a fantastic place for romacne readers. So today I thought I would share some of the books that I have found on Tiktok and loved.

Tiktok has become a great place for me to not only talk about romance books that I love but also discover new books and authors. If you don’t already you can follow me there. The books that I’m sharing with you today I’ve either found first on TikTok or I’ve seen it around before and it’s just made me want to read it more.

Anyways, let’s get into it. As always these are in no particular order. Since I’ve been reading mostly romance books this year, all of these are romance books. Please check the trigger warning for each book before you pick them up.

Games We Play (One Night #1) by Dana Isaly: This book will not be for everyone. Going to put that out there right now. And when I first started it, I was a litter wary. But I ended up really enjoying it and can’t wait to read more into this series. It is a novella, but that didn’t take away from the story at all. I also read Scars from Dana Isaly this year and highly recommend that dark romance as well.

Rejected (Shadow Beast Shifters #1) by Jaymin Eve: I had seen books from this author floating around over the past couple of years, but this series caught my eye right away. I read the first book last month and loved it, so had to keep on reading. It’s a great paranormal romance and I can’t wait to read more from the author.

Lola & the Millionaires: Part One (Sweet Omegaverse #2) by Kathryn Moon: This is a book that I want more people to read. I seriously love it so much. It’s one of the first reverse harem omegaverse books that I’ve picked up and I’m so glad that I did. It’s a great mix of sweet, sexy and spicy.

Hate (Madison Kate #1) by Tate James: This is another one of these series that I saw before I joined Tiktok but just never picked it up. Then I ended up binging the whole series at the start of the year and I’m so glad that I did. This is a reverse harem that is slightly dark. You can check out my series review now.

Freestyle (Academy of Stardom #1) by Bea Paige: I hadn’t heard about this series before I joined Tiktok but it kept on popping up everyone. And I mean it was about dancers so I hate to read it. And I ended up loving it so much. I’ve now also read nearly all of Bea Paige’s backlist as well. You can check out my series review for this as well.

Queen Takes Knights (Their Vampire Queen #1) by Joely Sue Burkhart: I wasn’t sure about this series when I first picked it up. But I’ve been in the mood for paranormal romances this whole year. And this fits the bill. And I’m so happy I did. It’s a dark, reverse harem romance that is fun and keeps you hooked.

Sacred Embrace (Lightbringer Trilogy #1) by A.J. Ryder: This book surprised me. And while I didn’t love it. It’s on this list because I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I’ve just posted my review for it, so check that out. But I had such a great time reading it.

Throttled (Dirty Air #1) by Lauren Asher: This is another one, that while I didn’t love. I still had a blast reading it. And I’m really excited to continue the series. You all know that I love my sports romances and this one surprised me. I don’t watch F1 a lot, but this made understanding everything super easy. If you are looking for a new sports romance, then pick this up.

And there we go. Those are some of the books that I TikTok has made me read. Have you read any of these books? What do you think of them? Are you planning on reading any of them? Let’s Chat!

April was a very good reading month for me, especi April was a very good reading month for me, especially after last month. I had some really fantastic reads in April. I did do a lot of re-reading this month but I had such blast. I re-read Caught Up and Play Along and the first 4 books in the Ironside Academy series. 📚

I read some books that I’ve been waiting for including the new book from Kels and Denise Stone, as well as the new Tessa Hale. ✨

Overall it was such a good month, lots of binge reading series and starting on some new authors. I’m so excited to see what May brings. 🖤

What was your favourite book that you read in April?

With a tarnished reputation and an undetermined future in F1 that hangs by a terribly loose thread, he can’t afford to lose his seat. Thiago is ready to do anything to redeem himself and erase his past mistakes. When a mysterious woman intrudes on his private party in Monte Carlo, he is certain the universe has brought his polar opposite into his life as salvation. He is sunshine, she is moonlight; he is a bright star and she is a moonbeam.

Destiny takes the wheel, steering Kamari into Thiago’s orbit, but her open disdain and closely guarded heart warn her to stay away. Enchanted by her charms, Thiago is intent on melting her freezing barriers and tearing down the walls shielding her heart.

When Kamari agrees to help him save his future by being his fake girlfriend, the unexpected happens, triggered by a game of lies, secrets and desire.

As they plunge towards the finish line, the race veers offtrack and neither of them are ready to fall off the cliff.

A little late but I am finally getting to share Ra A little late but I am finally getting to share Race 5’s Race Week Reads review. This week I read, Downforce (Pit Lane #1) by Hannah Lily.

🏎️ Review 🏎️

I had so much fun reading this book. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as I started Downforce. It was entertaining, fun, and I just had a good time reading it. And while it does explore some heavy topics, I don’t think it took away from the fun nature of the book.

Right from the start, we can see the tension between F1 Presenter, Olivia Fraser and F1 Driver, Jonah Scott. And while silly at times, it was fun seeing them interact together. Both really didn’t like each other. They both had said things about and to one another that sometimes it caused chaos. And I was here for it.

I did find that at times, just silly things happened. I am not a massive rom-com reader, and there was a lot of falling into one another, and arguments stemmed from nothing. This is honestly just because I don’t like these types of scenes, but it didn’t really make me dislike the book at all.

I loved the whole road trip aspect of the book, it’s different from other F1 books I’ve read so far this year and just made for some interesting banter and lust. I do wish that the road trip was a little longer than it was because I did feel like the romance moved pretty quickly here, but again, it didn’t really affect how much I was enjoying the book.

The romance was this combination of being slow burn and full of angst right at the start, to the road trip happening and then bam. But I loved it, though. The banter between Olivia and Jonah was fantastic. I loved seeing them grow not only with one another but with themselves as well.

Overall, I had a great time reading Downforce and will be continuing the series for sure when the other books come out. The romance was angsty and just felt right. The found family aspect really worked well here, and the F1 aspects were pretty okay. Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either. If you are looking for a fun read that has a great romance and a little rom-comy, then pick this one up.
I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. There have been so many books that I have enjoyed but there are some that I have just loved. 🖤

I didn’t realise before I put this post together that all of these books are from authors I’ve read and loved before. There hasn’t been a Rebecca Yarros book that I haven’t rated under 4 Stars. Elsie Silver is just making me love everything that she writes. Wild and Wrangled may be my favourite in the series. 📖

Three rereads also made it to this list. Binding 13 still makes me gasp and smile all at the same time. And Caught Up and Play Along just hit every time. 📚

I’ve honestly had a great year so far and since making this post a few more books I’ve read I’ve ended up loving. It’s going to be hard to pick my favourites at the end of the year that is for sure. ✨

What books have you loved reading this year? Are any books that made my list on yours? Let me know!
