Incompleted Series I Want To Continue in 2024

Posted by angelreads Discussions, TBR No Comments

If you didn’t know I love reading series. So today I decided to share some of the incomplete series that I want to continue reading in 2024. Some of these series I started a few years ago and slowly read as the series comes out, and some I’ve just read and now I’m waiting for more.

I’m a massive fan of interconnected contemporary series, so you will see quite a few of them on this list, but fantasy and paranormal series are always a standout for me. I am up to date with most of the series on this list, but I am catching the rest.

Anyway enough of the chit-chat, here are some of the current incomplete series that I want to keep on reading in 2024. And as always they are in no particular order. So, let’s go.

Ironside Academy Series by Jane Washington: I wasn’t expecting to like this series as much as I did. I read the first 3 books one after the other and loved them. So I’m super excited for the next book and waiting for it’s release.

Campus Diaries Series by Elle Kennedy: I didn’t know if I was going to love this new series but Elle Kennedy and I ended up loving the first book, so I cannot wait for more.

Windy City Series by Liz Tomforde: I liked the first book in this series but loved the second and third, so I am super excited to see where this series goes.

Maple Hills Series by Hannah Grace: I’ve enjoyed both Icebreaker and Wildfire quite a lot and I cannot wait to read Daydream. This is definitely going to be one that I read right as it’s released

Tempting Monsters Series by Kathryn Moon: I read the first book in this series last year and enjoyed it a lot. I’ve loved all the other Kathryn Moom books I’ve read so I will be continuing this series for sure.

The Windsors Series by Catharina Maura: I’m a little behind in this series and have already read the first two. But I do want to continue. I am more picky with my contemporary romances, but I have liked the first two books so far.

Duskwalker Brides Series by Opal Reyne: I don’t know why I haven’t continued this series yet. But I want to read at least another one of the books this year. Maybe even catch up with the series. I loved the first one, so I am super excited to read more.

The Mortal Fates Series by J. Bree: I am caught up with this as much as I can, but the second book comes out soon, and I cannot wait for it. It’s one of my most anticipated reads for 2024.

And there we go. Those are some of the incomplete series I am currently reading, and I plan on continuing to read them. Have you read any of these series? What do you think of them? Are you planning on starting any of these? Let’s chat!

Wild Love (Rose Hill, #1) by Elsie Silver

Pages: 464
Publish date: April 9th, 2024
Publisher: Hachette Australia
ISBN: 9780349441634
Purchase: Amazon UK – Amazon US – Amazon AU – QBD

She’s been driving him wild for years.

The good kind of wild. The bad kind of wild.

But mostly, the kind of wild that comes with wanting your best friend’s little sister and knowing you can’t have her.

Forbes may have labelled Ford Grant the World’s Hottest Billionaire, but all he cares about is escaping the press and opening a recording studio in gorgeous small town Rose Hill. Something that comes to a screeching halt when he ends up face-to-face with a young girl who claims he’s her biological father. Now, he spends his days balancing business with parenting a sullen twelve-year-old, all while trying desperately to keep his hands the hell off his best friend’s sister, Rosie Belmont.

After living in the city, Rosie came blasting back into town like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic. And one wide-eyed, desperate plea for a job is all it takes for Ford to hire her. He vows to keep her at arm’s length. Tries to stick to scowls and grumpy one-liners. But with her, verbal sparring is a type of foreplay―friction that soon turns to blistering heat.

Ford knows damn well he shouldn’t cross this line. But shouldn’t and can’t are two very different things.

And the only thing he truly can’t do is resist her.

Wild Love:

I received an earc of Wild Love from Elsie and her in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way influenced my thoughts or feelings about the book.

The way I screamed when I knew that I was getting an arc of one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I cannot tell you how happy I was to receive Wild Love by Elsie Silver. And I wasn’t disappointed.

For me, it’s hard for Elsie Silver to do wrong. I was hesitant about this book because I loved the Chestnut Springs series, but I had nothing to worry about because it had so many things that I love. From brother’s best friend to single dad and billionaire this had all the right elements and it all worked.I am not going to lie it, it did take me a little while to get in, but honestly, it didn’t take that long. I think once I was in the story, everything fell into place.

Ford was made to be a dad. It didn’t come right away, but he just fell into it. There were a few missteps and it took him a while to get there, but when he did, it was oh so right. It was really nice seeing him slowly fall in love with being a father and his daughter.

Rosie is just what this story needed. She was this brightness that added another layer to Wild Love. I loved seeing her grow throughout the story and understand that some of the things that happened weren’t her fault and that it’s okay to ask for a little help.

The romance!!!! The romance was fan fucken fantastic. The pining!!! The pining is some of the best I’ve read in a love time. We know they both love each other, but they both won’t admit it for a while and when they do. Bam! It was brilliant, hot, smokey. It was everything that an Elsie Silver book is and more. They were hot together that is all that needs to be said. Elsie knows how to write smut that just bangs.

The dynamics between all the characters were exactly what I wanted. But the dynamic between Ford, Rosie and Cora was next level. The banter was fantastic, they were a family before they even knew they were a family. They just fit with each other. But also had different personalities and were their own people.

I did have a few little issues here and there, but honestly, they weren’t super major. The writing felt a little clunky at times, and there were times when I didn’t feel like Cora was a 12-year-old. But then she had to grow up very quickly, so it’s a give or take here.

Honestly, I loved reading Wild Love by Elsie Silver, it was what I was hoping for and it was fantastic. The romance was fantastic, the family and small-town dynamics hit and I cannot wait to read more in this single-dad series. I want it all now.

And there go! Have you Wild Love by Elsie Silver yet? What did you think of it? Are you planning on reading it any time soon? So, let’s chat!

Books I’ve Loved Already This Year

Posted by angelreads Discussions No Comments

I have already read quite a few books this year so I thought it would be fantastic to share with you the books that I have loved.

It’s been an okay reading year so far, I’ve nearly hit reading 50 books and while that is on the lower side for me I hope I can read more in the coming months. I have had some fantastic books, some books that weren’t my thing and some books I loved. So today I thought it would be fantastic to share the books that I have already loved this year.

From fantasy, to contemporary and small town romacnes. Here are the books I have already loved reading in 2024.

Serpentine Valentine by Giana Darling: Giana Darling is always a hit for me and this one is different from anything else I’ve read from her and it was fantastic, one of my favourite books of the year. It’s sapphic and mythology inspired and honestly just hits with the spice as well.

Twilight of Embers (Dragons of Ember Hollow, #1) by Tessa Hale: I’d seen this one floating around social media a little and then I picked it up and I knew why. It’s got dragons, why choose and fated mates. It’s what I love. I’m about to start the second book and I’m super excited for it.

The Penalty Box (Vancouver Wolves Hockey, #3) by Odette Stone: This is by far my favourite in this series, which I have now finished reading. It’s got a little bit of the mafia, it’s suspenseful and has hockey. Yes please.

Wild Love (Rose Hill, #1) by Elsie Silver: Elsie Silver knows whats up! This single dad, brothers best friend, billiolnari romance hits. It’s fantastic and has jumped to one of my favourites from Elsie.

Lost & Found #3-5 by Catherine Cowles: Honestly this whole series is fantastic. However, Glimmers of You is one the first one I really loved, it’s angsty and brothers best friend. Shadows of You is single mother and a grumpy mountain of a man. It’s fantastic. And Ashes of You is single father who will do anything for this boys and a women who has been hurt beyond compare. They both needed each other.

And there we go. Those are all the books I have already loved reading this year. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading any of them? So let’s chat!

April was a very good reading month for me, especi April was a very good reading month for me, especially after last month. I had some really fantastic reads in April. I did do a lot of re-reading this month but I had such blast. I re-read Caught Up and Play Along and the first 4 books in the Ironside Academy series. 📚

I read some books that I’ve been waiting for including the new book from Kels and Denise Stone, as well as the new Tessa Hale. ✨

Overall it was such a good month, lots of binge reading series and starting on some new authors. I’m so excited to see what May brings. 🖤

What was your favourite book that you read in April?

A little late but I am finally getting to share Ra A little late but I am finally getting to share Race 5’s Race Week Reads review. This week I read, Downforce (Pit Lane #1) by Hannah Lily.

🏎️ Review 🏎️

I had so much fun reading this book. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as I started Downforce. It was entertaining, fun, and I just had a good time reading it. And while it does explore some heavy topics, I don’t think it took away from the fun nature of the book.

Right from the start, we can see the tension between F1 Presenter, Olivia Fraser and F1 Driver, Jonah Scott. And while silly at times, it was fun seeing them interact together. Both really didn’t like each other. They both had said things about and to one another that sometimes it caused chaos. And I was here for it.

I did find that at times, just silly things happened. I am not a massive rom-com reader, and there was a lot of falling into one another, and arguments stemmed from nothing. This is honestly just because I don’t like these types of scenes, but it didn’t really make me dislike the book at all.

I loved the whole road trip aspect of the book, it’s different from other F1 books I’ve read so far this year and just made for some interesting banter and lust. I do wish that the road trip was a little longer than it was because I did feel like the romance moved pretty quickly here, but again, it didn’t really affect how much I was enjoying the book.

The romance was this combination of being slow burn and full of angst right at the start, to the road trip happening and then bam. But I loved it, though. The banter between Olivia and Jonah was fantastic. I loved seeing them grow not only with one another but with themselves as well.

Overall, I had a great time reading Downforce and will be continuing the series for sure when the other books come out. The romance was angsty and just felt right. The found family aspect really worked well here, and the F1 aspects were pretty okay. Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either. If you are looking for a fun read that has a great romance and a little rom-comy, then pick this one up.
I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. There have been so many books that I have enjoyed but there are some that I have just loved. 🖤

I didn’t realise before I put this post together that all of these books are from authors I’ve read and loved before. There hasn’t been a Rebecca Yarros book that I haven’t rated under 4 Stars. Elsie Silver is just making me love everything that she writes. Wild and Wrangled may be my favourite in the series. 📖

Three rereads also made it to this list. Binding 13 still makes me gasp and smile all at the same time. And Caught Up and Play Along just hit every time. 📚

I’ve honestly had a great year so far and since making this post a few more books I’ve read I’ve ended up loving. It’s going to be hard to pick my favourites at the end of the year that is for sure. ✨

What books have you loved reading this year? Are any books that made my list on yours? Let me know!
