Latest Additions Added To My Goodreads TBR #2

Posted by angelreads Discussions, TBR 1 Comment

Today I thought I would share some of the latest books I’ve added to my Goodreads TBR. I use my Goodreads ‘to be read’ shelf for books that I don’t always own, but I want to try and maybe read. It’s a place for me to keep updated in the books that have caught my eye or are sequels to books that I love and series that I’m reading.

There is a range of romance and young adult here. But it is mostly romance that normally makes this list. With YA. I normally buy it pretty quickly or know what I want to read. With romance, I normally like to read reviews a little more and have a better understanding before I pick the book up.  Anyway, let’s get into it. Like always these are in no particular order.

A King So Cold by Ella Fields: I honestly don’t know too much about this one here. It kept on popping up on a couple of my social media feeds and I’m intrigued. This is a new release so I want to wait for a little bit and read some more reviews before I pick this one up. It does sound on the darker side and I’ve had some ups and downs with it recently so I want to wait that little bit longer. But also look at that cover!

Lust (The Elite Seven #1) by Ker Dukey: This isn’t just the book that has intrigued but the whole series as a whole. I’m interested to see how everything plays out in this series. The reviews and ratings range for each book. Some are higher than others. And I think that I might give this one a go. Soon.

Fire In His Blood (Fireblood Dragon #1) by Ruby Dixon: I spoke about this one briefly in my current Kindle Unlimted books. I’ve been more interested in fantasy romance and I want to read more. And this series came up quite a bit. I don’t know how I’m going to feel about it. But I want to give it a go for sure.

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller: As soon as I read the synopsis of this one I knew that I wanted to pick it up. It sounds right up my alley and something that I love reading in a young adult. It’s been getting mixed reviews, but I’ve got it on loan from my library so I cannot wait to pick it up and see for myself.

The Happy Ever After Playlist (The Friend Zone #2) by Abby Jimenez: I’ve started to see reviews pop up all over the place of this one and it sounds so good! It sounds adorable and something that I just want to read. Now, I haven’t read the first book in this series, so please tell me if I need to. The first book doesn’t catch me like this one though.

Hero (Morgan Brothers #1) by Lauren Rowe: This is another book that I spoke about in my KU post. But again, I’m interested in this one. And sometimes I just feel like a general romance book and this one feels like it’s going to be that. And I’ve heard good things about this series as well.

They Went Left by Monica Hesse: It wasn’t going to be a post from me if it didn’t include a historical fiction novel. This one sounds like it’s going to break me into tiny little pieces, but I’m ready for that. I love reading books set around World War II. It’s something that has always interested me and I can’t wait to read this one.

Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye: I’m not sure I’m ready for all the cuteness of this book. But I also feel that it’s going to hurt. It is just going to give all the emotions. However, this book is either going to go two ways for me. I’m going to love it or I’m going to hate it. But I can’t wait to read it.

A Lesson in Thorns (Thornchapel #1) by Sierra Simone: I’ve been debating picking up this book and series for some time now. It’s been getting some attention recently and I keep on seeing it. This is another one that I think I will either love or hate. I think I do need to be in the mode for it though. So I might just wait till then.

Meet Cute Club (Sweet Rose #1) by Jack Harbon: I hadn’t heard much about this book until a few weeks ago when it popped up in the ‘Readers Also Enjoyed’ thing on Goodreads. But it sounds adorable and so interesting. I love that is about books and M/M. It sounds like an utterly cute romance and I’m ready for that.

And that is it for this post! What are some of the books that you have recently added to your Goodreads TBR? Do we share any that is the same? Are you planning on reading any of these books? Have you? Let’s Chat!

Recent Book Bloggers and Booktubers I’ve Found

Posted by angelreads Discussions 1 Comment

I always love finding new to me book bloggers and booktubers so today I thought I would share some of my recent finds. Now, most of these people have been around for a while, but they have recently just popped up on my radar. I would love if you checked them all out!

Jessica from PeaceLoveBooksxo | I’ve been trying to find more romance bloggers recently. I don’t follow a whole lot and I’m always looking for more recommendations and I came along Jessica. I love her videos, especially her recommendations. I’ve read a lot of what she has suggested recently and it’s just been great. And while we do have similar taste, she reads a lot that I hadn’t before and it was great delving into that as well.

Cal from Constant Raving Reviews | I didn’t find this one on my own per se but through twitter. We follow each other on twitter when I realised that she also had a blog and checked it out. I really enjoy reading her reviews and checking out her posts. She reads a range of things so there is something for everyone here.

Jennifer from The Book Refuge | This is a very recent find for me. Like I said early I’ve been really looking for some more romance bloggers/booktubers and while I was watching some videos, Jennifer’s videos came up as a recommendation. And I enjoyed them right away.

Laura from Laura’s Adventures in Literature | I really loved that Laura reviews a lot of #LoveOzYA – that just warms my heart. I love reading #LoveOzYA and when other people read it and love it. I also really enjoy the reviews in general. They are insightful and I love reading what Laura thinks.

And that is it! Those are some of my recent favourite book bloggers and booktubers that I’ve found! What are some of yours? Do you follow anyone that I talked about today? Are there any that you think I should check out? Let’s Chat!

My Current Kindle Unlimited Books

Posted by angelreads Book Hauls, Discussions No Comments

I’ve had a Kindle Unlimited (KU) membership for some time now. I find it’s a great source of romance books especially those that I’m not too sure about. It has introduced me to some amazing authors and I love that it has also saved me a lot of money! And I mean a lot. I also enjoy when the first book is on KU and if you are feeling iffy about starting the series, it’s a great way to dive in.

So today I thought I would share what I currently have from Kindle Unlimited. For the most part, it’s mostly a romance that I do get from KU. But they do have a range of books from general fiction to young adult. I’m always getting new books through Kindle Unlimited so this list changes a lot. Like always these are in no order but are the books that I currently have unread with Kindle Unlimited.

Zach (Hell’s Handlers MC #1) by Lilly Atlas: Not going to lie, a lot of the books that I normally get from Kindle Unlimted is MC romances. I just love them so much. You can see some of my favourites here. I don’t know too much about this one, it just popped up onto my feed and it sounded like something that I might enjoy. I haven’t had the time to start it yet but I’m excited.

Corrupt (Devil’s Night #1) by Penelope Douglas: Penelope Douglas has been an hour that I’ve thought about reading for some time now. And when I saw this one on KU. I just grabbed it. Single getting this one though, I did read Birthday Girl and I’m still trying to work out how I feel about it. I will have to pick this one up soon though.

The Forbidden Man by Karina Halle: I’ve been watching and reading a lot more romance bloggers recently and this book popped up quite a bit. And it intrigues me. I love my sports romances and this one seems like something that I might very much enjoy.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata: I read my first Mariana Zapata last months and I’m still not sure how I feel about her books. But I really want to give this one a go. It’s another sports romance – which is right up my alley. And I’ve heard such good things about it as well as the author.

Undaunted (The Kings of Retribution MC #1) by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez: I’m not even sure how this one come to be on my kindle. I think I was just browsing KU books and this one popped up. This one has really caught my attention. MC romances are always a hit or miss for me. Sometimes they are fantastic and sometimes they are horrible. But I can’t wait to see where this falls.

The Air He Breathes (Elements #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry: This series just recently caught my eye and I want to know what it’s all about. General contemporary romance isn’t something that I read a whole lot of, but I want to start and this one seems interesting.

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) by Laura Thalassa: This is another one that I’ve heard while watching and reading bloggers recently. I haven’t read many Dystopia/Fantasy romances like this and that has caught my eye. This series is currently still going, so I hope to pick it up soon.

Hero (Morgan Brothers #1) by Lauren Rowe: This one just sounded like a good read. I didn’t even read any reviews about it. It just sounded like something that I would really enjoy.

Fire in His Blood (Fireblood Dragon #1) by Ruby Dixon: This is another romance fantasy that caught my eye. This one intrigues me but I’m also very hesitant. However, I will give it a go nonetheless. It’s one that I have seen other romance readers pick up and I want to know what it’s about.

Love Under Quarantine by Kylie Scott and Audrey Carlan: I love Kylie Scott books and when I saw that she was bringing out a surprise new book and I knew that I needed to get my hands on it. And it sounds so good and I can’t wait to dig in. It just sounds like a quick and fun read. That is what I really am loving right now.

And that is it for this post! Those are the books I currently have with Kindle Unlimited! Have you read any of these? What did you think? Do you use Kindle Unlimited? What are some of your favourite reads from it? Let’s Chat!

April was a very good reading month for me, especi April was a very good reading month for me, especially after last month. I had some really fantastic reads in April. I did do a lot of re-reading this month but I had such blast. I re-read Caught Up and Play Along and the first 4 books in the Ironside Academy series. 📚

I read some books that I’ve been waiting for including the new book from Kels and Denise Stone, as well as the new Tessa Hale. ✨

Overall it was such a good month, lots of binge reading series and starting on some new authors. I’m so excited to see what May brings. 🖤

What was your favourite book that you read in April?

A little late but I am finally getting to share Ra A little late but I am finally getting to share Race 5’s Race Week Reads review. This week I read, Downforce (Pit Lane #1) by Hannah Lily.

🏎️ Review 🏎️

I had so much fun reading this book. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as I started Downforce. It was entertaining, fun, and I just had a good time reading it. And while it does explore some heavy topics, I don’t think it took away from the fun nature of the book.

Right from the start, we can see the tension between F1 Presenter, Olivia Fraser and F1 Driver, Jonah Scott. And while silly at times, it was fun seeing them interact together. Both really didn’t like each other. They both had said things about and to one another that sometimes it caused chaos. And I was here for it.

I did find that at times, just silly things happened. I am not a massive rom-com reader, and there was a lot of falling into one another, and arguments stemmed from nothing. This is honestly just because I don’t like these types of scenes, but it didn’t really make me dislike the book at all.

I loved the whole road trip aspect of the book, it’s different from other F1 books I’ve read so far this year and just made for some interesting banter and lust. I do wish that the road trip was a little longer than it was because I did feel like the romance moved pretty quickly here, but again, it didn’t really affect how much I was enjoying the book.

The romance was this combination of being slow burn and full of angst right at the start, to the road trip happening and then bam. But I loved it, though. The banter between Olivia and Jonah was fantastic. I loved seeing them grow not only with one another but with themselves as well.

Overall, I had a great time reading Downforce and will be continuing the series for sure when the other books come out. The romance was angsty and just felt right. The found family aspect really worked well here, and the F1 aspects were pretty okay. Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either. If you are looking for a fun read that has a great romance and a little rom-comy, then pick this one up.
I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. There have been so many books that I have enjoyed but there are some that I have just loved. 🖤

I didn’t realise before I put this post together that all of these books are from authors I’ve read and loved before. There hasn’t been a Rebecca Yarros book that I haven’t rated under 4 Stars. Elsie Silver is just making me love everything that she writes. Wild and Wrangled may be my favourite in the series. 📖

Three rereads also made it to this list. Binding 13 still makes me gasp and smile all at the same time. And Caught Up and Play Along just hit every time. 📚

I’ve honestly had a great year so far and since making this post a few more books I’ve read I’ve ended up loving. It’s going to be hard to pick my favourites at the end of the year that is for sure. ✨

What books have you loved reading this year? Are any books that made my list on yours? Let me know!
