The Books On My Wishlist That I Would Love Right Now

Posted by angelreads Top Ten Tuesday 8 Comments

This week I’m sharing the books that are on my wishlist. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a little different. Not only am I sharing the books on my wishlist that I would love right now, but I’m also sharing my Amazon wishlist. Some of the books on my wishlist I’ve read and really would love a physical copy and some are books that I cannot wait to read. This week we are sharing wishlists in case anyone also wants to grant some wishes. Just a reminder this is not something you have to do. However, you can see my full wish list here.

I’m sharing my list mostly so I can share with you the books I’m really looking forward to reading and owning. There are some sequels to books I have already, some new to me authors and so many books that I want to try. So, let’s get right into it.

books on my wishlist covers

Boyfriend Goals by Riley Hart | Lilacs and Leather (Pack Saint Clair #1) by Thora Woods | Dating Dr. Dil (If Shakespeare was an Auntie #1) by Nisha Sharma. | The Sea Witch (Wicked Villains #5) by Katee Robert.

books on my wishlist covers

Lola & the Millionaires: Part Two (Sweet Omegaverse #3) by Kathryn Moon. | Twisted Ginni by Nicola Rose | The Dare by Harley Laroux | Priceless by Miranda Silver.

books on my wishlist covers

The Accidental Pinup by Danielle Jackson | The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert.

And there we go, those are the books that I wish I had right now. From books that I have read to books that I am looking forward to reading. And with my wishlist ever-growing, I’m always adding new books.

What are the books that you wish you had? Are any of the books on my list or yours? What’s the one book you wished you had right now? Hopefully, some of your wishes come true. Nevertheless, let’s Chat!

Last Five Reads | June

Posted by angelreads Last 5 Reads No Comments

It’s time for another last five reads post. I’m really enjoying doing these types of posts. It’s a great way for me to talk about books that I am reading before I do my monthly wrap-up. But it also lets me go a little more in-depth than I normally would.

So let’s get right into it. I’ve been in a little reading slump recently, but I am feeling like I’m getting out of it. And here are the books that I have read recently that have helped with that.

Kings of Mayhem MC #1-#6 by Penny Dee: I’m putting all these books together because then it would just take up my whole post. But one of the things I do to get out of a reading slump is re-read. And I kept seeing this series pop up on my tiktok read, so I went ahead and re-read them.

It was really nice being back into this world and reading an MC romance. I sometimes forget how much I love reading MC romanes and this one sparked my love for it again.

I really enjoyed this series the first time I read it, and I felt the same when I re-read this month. It’s fun and a little dark, but it’s also emotional as hell and I love that.

I think my favourites have to be Kings of Mayhem, Off Limits and Bull

Kulti by Mariana Zapata: I’ve been wanting to read another Mariana Zapata for a while now and I just felt like a good sports romance. I’ve read quite a few Mariana Zapata now and this has definitely jumped up to one of my favourites.

If you haven’t read a Mariana Zapata be prepared for a slow burn. And this was slow. But it was so good. It was sexy, romantic and a classic Zapata. The romance was really interesting and while I did want a little more angst between them after they bother realised they liked each other, I was still pretty happy.

Overall, I really did enjoy Kulti a lot. I would have also enjoyed it if we were also on his pov. But it’s okay.

Knight’s Legion MC #1-#2 by Naomi Porter: Now that I’m on a MC romance kick, I picked the first books in this series up. And in all honestly, I’m not sure how I feel.

Firstly I wasn’t a massive fan of the writing. It went from feeling childish to all macho man. It was like whiplash. I couldn’t really like Storm, the male protagonist a whole lot. He was so 180. And couldn’t make up his mind. This meant that the story just kept on flipping.

I liked the premise of the book, but I didn’t feel that it was done so great. Again there was just so much in here, and I could not keep up. But the thing is. I want to keep on reading the series, just so I know how all the books turn out. And what happens with everyone else. I’m just not sure what I am going to do.

Three of Hearts (Harpies of a Feather #1) by Lillian Lark: I’ve been wanting to read a Lillian Lark book for a little while now, and I also wanted something quick and short. And this was the perfect book for that.

While I didn’t fall in love with this book. I really did enjoy it. It’s fast-paced, a hot romance and some supernatural creatures that really interesting. Three of Hearts is a romance between a werewolf, a demon and a Harpy. Which I found so interesting and why I picked this book up.

The romance was very fast-paced and while it did move just a little too quickly for what I normally like. The book is under 200 pages. So it’s not bad in that perspective. I liked all three of our protagonists and I enjoyed that we got to see a little bit of each of them. This book was just a lot of fun. And if you are looking for a quick, supernatural romance then pick this up.

Alight (The Firecracker Cousins #1) by A.H. Cunningham: I hadn’t heard about this book until Ely showed me something that featured it. I didn’t know too much about it when I picked it up either, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit.

I’m not a massive contemporary reader. It’s probably the sub-genre that I read the least, but this one was not only fun, but emotional, and I didn’t want to put it down.

The romance in this was a second chance romance and oh I loved it. It was these best friends who no longer talk to one another, who come together again and just. It was also sexy and sweet. I cannot wait to continue reading this series, because I will be doing that for sure.

And there we go. Those are my last five reads as of me writing this post. What have you read recently? did you enjoy them? Let’s Chat!

Books I Found on Tiktok and Loved

Today I thought I would share some of the books that I come across on Tiktok and loved. There is a mix of the more popular books to books I’ve only seen a few times. I’ve done a post like this before, but I wanted to share some of the new books that I have added to this list. You can check out the post now.

I’ve read a lot of TikTok books most of the last year and I’ve found it’s a great way for me to find recommendations, especially in regards to romance books. And while there have been some doozies, there have been some gems that I have found and loved.

Nevertheless, let’s get right into it. Here are books that I have found on Tiktok that I have ended up really enjoying and also loving. There is a mix of different subgenres of romance as well, so there is a little bit for everyone.

Broken Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #1) by J. Bree | The Longing of Lone Wolves (Fae Guardians #1) by Lana Pecherczyk. | One Night in Garoureve (The Shifters of Garoureve #1) by Elle M. Drew. | Lilacs and Leather (Pack Saint Clair #1) by Thora Woods.

Creature Cafe by Clio Evans | Twisted Games (Twisted #2) by Ana Huang  | Find Me (WITSEC #1) by Ashley N. Rostek | The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.

A Touch of Darkness (Hades & Persephone #1) by Scarlett St. Clair | Triple-Duty Bodyguards by Lily Gold | Marry the Scot series by Jolie Vines | Wicked Gods (Gifted Academy #1) by Michelle Hercules.

And there we go. Those are just some of the books that I have found on tiktok that I have really enjoyed reading, clearly, I like my romances. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading any? What are some books that you have found and loved?

Obviously, there are also some books that I haven’t enjoyed that I have discovered from Tiktok. Would you also like to see a post on those books?

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.
