If You Liked This Popular TikTok Book Read This One…

Posted by angelreads Recommendations, Romance Recs No Comments

I thought I would have a little fun today and share some books that I want more people to read but with a twist. Today I share recommendations for books to read from popular Tiktok books.

Sometimes you see books over and over again in videos and recommendations. And while I think that is fantastic and I love seeing people read books that I have really enjoyed. I thought it would be fun to share books that I don’t see recommended often. Or they just aren’t as popular.

Some of the books I’m mentioned are newer books, some are older. I also tried to mix up the recommendations from sports romances, to dark romances to fantasy and more.

I do want to quickly mention, that the for you page on tiktok is bad differently for each person so while I may see more of one book, you may see another. Anyway, let’s go. As always these are in no order.

If you liked The Deal by Elle Kennedy, then you will like The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen

I know that these two authors are co-authors of quite a few books. And the blogging community loves Sarina Bowen. But It’s rare that I see any love for Sarina Bowen over on Tiktok. But if you love The Off-Campus series from Elle Kennedy, you will love The Ivy Years by Sarina Bowen. This series is absolutely fantastic, and if not better than Elle Kennedy’s.

If you like Neon Gods by Katee Robert, you will like Drag Me Up by R.M. Virtues

You all know that I adore Katee Robert and her Dark Olympus series. But if you loved that or want to try something new in Greek Mythology retellings. Then you need to read Drag Me Up by R.M. Virtues. I’ve just read the first book in their series but I am hanging to read the rest and I cannot wait. It’s on that similar darkest leave and smutty as hell. I love seeing what different people do with retellings and the world that R.M Virtues has created is so fascinating.

Did you like it ends with us by Colleen Hoover? then you will love the Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros

While the themes of these books don’t match up exactly. You will feel the same at the end. If you liked reading It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, then you need to read The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. You will be left broken and hurt by The Last Letter, but it is hands down till this day one of my favourite books. I cannot explain how much I sobbed in this one. Both books deal with a lot of hard issues that make you really think about things.

I know there are a lot of people out there that have read and loved From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata including me. Then you should try Crossing the Ice (Ice #1) by Jennifer Comeaux. While this isn’t as smutty as some of the books on this list. I loved it so much. It’s quite a few years old now, but whenever the Winter Olympics come around I want to read it. It’s a new adult sports romance that just hits all the right spots.

And there we go. Those are the books that I would recommend if you like these particular popular books on Tiktok.  Have you read any of these books? Are you planning on reading them? What are some popular books on Tiktok that you want to read a book that is similar? Let’s Chat!

Books With an Adjective In the Title

Posted by angelreads Top Ten Tuesday 5 Comments

This week I’m sharing books with an adjective in the title. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday was a little. I really had to think and put my editing brain back on. Today I share books with adjectives in the title. I’m not going to lie here I really had to think about the books I was picking, and I might have got a few wrong. But I still had lots of fun.

So let’s go, these are the books with an adjective in the title. There is a mix of books here and as always these are in no order.

Twisted Games (Twisted #2) by Ana Huang | Electric Idol (Dark Olympus #2) by Katee Robert – Discussion | Wicked Gods (Gifted Academy #1) by Michelle Hercules  | Daring and the Duke (The Bareknuckle Bastards #3) by Sarah MacLean.

Cold-Hearted Rake (The Ravenels #1) by Lisa Kleypas | In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens – discussion | Savage Lover (Brutal Birthright #3) by Sophie Lark | Undercover Duke (Duke Dynasty #4) by Sabrina Jeffries.

My Darling Duke (Sinful Wallflowers #1) by Stacy Reid | The Rebel King (All the King’s Men #2) by Kennedy Ryan.

And there we go! Those are some of the books that I have loved with an adjective in the title. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading them? Let’s Chat!

Books I Want To Re-Read This Year

Posted by angelreads Discussions, TBR No Comments

I love re-reading. It’s one of my favourite things to do. So today I thought I would share some of the books/series that I want to try and re-read this year.

I’m going to start off by saying that there are a lot of series that I want to start re-reading this year, and most of them are all complete. I just really feel like going back and reading them again. Some of the books I haven’t read in years, and some I’ve read more recently. Re-reading is not for everyone, but I find it’s a great way for me to get out of a slump or I just want to read something that I love.

So let’s get into it. These are the books and series that I want to re-read this year. And as always these are in no order.

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead | The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus #1) by Rick Riordan. | The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller | The Winner’s Curse (The Winner’s Trilogy #1) by Marie Rutkoski.

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days #1) by Susan Ee | Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) by Sarah J. Maas | Trial by Fire (Worldwalker #1) by Josephine Angelini | Disruption (Disruption #1) by Jessica Shirvington.

And I Darken (The Conqueror’s Saga #1) by Kiersten White | Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys.

And there we go. Those are some of the books and series that I would like to re-read this year. Do you like re-reading? Are you planning on re-reading anything this year? Is there a book you could just re-read over and over again?

April was a very good reading month for me, especi April was a very good reading month for me, especially after last month. I had some really fantastic reads in April. I did do a lot of re-reading this month but I had such blast. I re-read Caught Up and Play Along and the first 4 books in the Ironside Academy series. 📚

I read some books that I’ve been waiting for including the new book from Kels and Denise Stone, as well as the new Tessa Hale. ✨

Overall it was such a good month, lots of binge reading series and starting on some new authors. I’m so excited to see what May brings. 🖤

What was your favourite book that you read in April?

With a tarnished reputation and an undetermined future in F1 that hangs by a terribly loose thread, he can’t afford to lose his seat. Thiago is ready to do anything to redeem himself and erase his past mistakes. When a mysterious woman intrudes on his private party in Monte Carlo, he is certain the universe has brought his polar opposite into his life as salvation. He is sunshine, she is moonlight; he is a bright star and she is a moonbeam.

Destiny takes the wheel, steering Kamari into Thiago’s orbit, but her open disdain and closely guarded heart warn her to stay away. Enchanted by her charms, Thiago is intent on melting her freezing barriers and tearing down the walls shielding her heart.

When Kamari agrees to help him save his future by being his fake girlfriend, the unexpected happens, triggered by a game of lies, secrets and desire.

A little late but I am finally getting to share Ra A little late but I am finally getting to share Race 5’s Race Week Reads review. This week I read, Downforce (Pit Lane #1) by Hannah Lily.

🏎️ Review 🏎️

I had so much fun reading this book. I knew I was in for a ride as soon as I started Downforce. It was entertaining, fun, and I just had a good time reading it. And while it does explore some heavy topics, I don’t think it took away from the fun nature of the book.

Right from the start, we can see the tension between F1 Presenter, Olivia Fraser and F1 Driver, Jonah Scott. And while silly at times, it was fun seeing them interact together. Both really didn’t like each other. They both had said things about and to one another that sometimes it caused chaos. And I was here for it.

I did find that at times, just silly things happened. I am not a massive rom-com reader, and there was a lot of falling into one another, and arguments stemmed from nothing. This is honestly just because I don’t like these types of scenes, but it didn’t really make me dislike the book at all.

I loved the whole road trip aspect of the book, it’s different from other F1 books I’ve read so far this year and just made for some interesting banter and lust. I do wish that the road trip was a little longer than it was because I did feel like the romance moved pretty quickly here, but again, it didn’t really affect how much I was enjoying the book.

The romance was this combination of being slow burn and full of angst right at the start, to the road trip happening and then bam. But I loved it, though. The banter between Olivia and Jonah was fantastic. I loved seeing them grow not only with one another but with themselves as well.

Overall, I had a great time reading Downforce and will be continuing the series for sure when the other books come out. The romance was angsty and just felt right. The found family aspect really worked well here, and the F1 aspects were pretty okay. Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either. If you are looking for a fun read that has a great romance and a little rom-comy, then pick this one up.
I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. I’ve already had a pretty amazing reading year. There have been so many books that I have enjoyed but there are some that I have just loved. 🖤

I didn’t realise before I put this post together that all of these books are from authors I’ve read and loved before. There hasn’t been a Rebecca Yarros book that I haven’t rated under 4 Stars. Elsie Silver is just making me love everything that she writes. Wild and Wrangled may be my favourite in the series. 📖

Three rereads also made it to this list. Binding 13 still makes me gasp and smile all at the same time. And Caught Up and Play Along just hit every time. 📚

I’ve honestly had a great year so far and since making this post a few more books I’ve read I’ve ended up loving. It’s going to be hard to pick my favourites at the end of the year that is for sure. ✨

What books have you loved reading this year? Are any books that made my list on yours? Let me know!
