I loved this book. I loved this book so damn much! I’ve nearly read all of Sarina Bowen’s books now and this has to be one of my favourites. It’s fun, beautiful and put a smile on my face. It’s friends to lovers, and it’s done so well.

Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen follows Nate and Rebecca, two colleagues turned friends as they try and navigate their lives after they share a moment together. It’s a romance that the readers have seen a glimpse of from the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina. Nate and Rebecca have known each other for about 7 years when the book starts off and it was great to see their relationship move from friends to something much more.

Nate is basically the best human ever! He was adorable and took my heart away. The reader was able to see his feelings for Rebecca grow and it just so nice to see. It was also nice to see a somewhat manly man care and adore Rebecca so much – and he didn’t care. I loved how his friends teased and while he tried to act chill, the reader is able to see that Nate doesn’t care that people can see that he likes Rebecca.

I loved that Nate took care of Rebecca after her accident, it was great to see that he was aware and paid attention to what was going on in her life. And while it did seem like her hovered a little, it was because he cared. He wanted Rebecca to have the best care that she needed. It was nice to see someone with money use it for good.

I enjoyed Rebecca as a protagonist just as much Nate. She is sassy, strong and just made me smile. After Rebecca’s accident on the ice, she feels lost. She can’t work, she can’t stand without feeling dizzy, she just wants things to go back to normal. It was hard to see Rebecca struggle with this. She wants to go back to work and do things with her life – but her health stops her. While it’s only temporary for Rebecca, I could totally connect with her.

The romance in Brooklynaire was totally adorable, I couldn’t deal with it. I loved how it turned from friendship to romance slowly – like 7 years slowly. I liked how they were both hesitate, but when it came to it, they both gave it. One of the great things that the reader gets to enjoy is the flashbacks to some of the key moments in Nate’s and Rebecca’s relationship. I loved seeing how much they cared for one another but didn’t admit it to one another, but then it slowly come together.

The only problem that I really had with Brooklynaire was that I really wanted more interaction between Rebecca, her family and friends. At the start, we get a good glimpse of Rebecca and her sister, but from then on – there isn’t much interaction. I wanted to get to know their relationship more, but I didn’t get that. The same goes for Rebecca and Georgia. They are supposedly really close and there was some girl talk – but I just wanted to see them together not for ‘big news’ talk, but more. However, this was only a little nick in a fantastic story.

Overall, I loved Brooklynaire. It’s got the classic Sarina Bowen steam with a beautiful romance to go along with it. Nate and Rebecca were adorable and I loved seeing their friendship turn to love. Brooklynaire explores love, friendship and finding your ground. It’s fun, heartbreaking and loving at the same time. Brooklynaire is a novel that will appeal to all romance lovers.

For the last year I have been reading; 1. More Romance and 2. More Sarina Bowen. So when I was given the change to read an early copy of Bountiful – I took it. I read the first 3 books in the ‘True North’ series a couple of months ago and really fell in love with the characters. And with doing that I was introduced to Zara – and her baby. It had been a mystery the whole series who the father was – and we finally found out.

Bountiful follows Zara, the mother of the beautiful little redhead girl, who fell pregnant after a fling – and she didn’t tell anyone who the father was. But it wasn’t like she knew his name. It’s been two years and Zara is living the life of a single mother – until Dave comes into her life. Dave hasn’t forgotten about Zara and when he finds his way back to her town – Dave is hoping that she is still there. What he didn’t know is that he had a daughter waiting for him too.

Throughout this series, I was dying to find out who the father was of Zara’s daughter and gosh did it make this book interesting. I really enjoy Zara both as a protagonist and as a mother. The reader is able to see her through other character eyes before this – and now finally the story is told through her.

I felt that Zara really grew throughout Bountiful. At the start, she is both hesitate with Dave being back and letting him into their lives. But she also has some strong feelings for him. What I loved about Zara was that she did care so much about her daughter – and she was first.

I have a love-hate relationship with Dave. For the most part, I really enjoyed him. But there were things that just didn’t sit right with me throughout the novel. It took quite a while for Dave to get used to the idea that he had a daughter, but as Bountiful went on – the reader is able to see his thoughts and feelings change.

Bountiful really explores the notion of family and I loved seeing Zara and Dave come together and show this to their daughter. Obvious it’s hard, a fling turning into something more. But I liked the way that Sarina Bowen dealt with it. In saying that, I did wish I got more scenes with the three of them together.

There was no denying that Zara and Dave had a connection. And with the way that Sarina structured the book out – it did emphasise that. The reader is able to see their feelings before, and then take us two years later and see what has changed between them.

I also really enjoyed seeing all the characters that we have come to know and love. It’s really nice having a book where everyone that was once hurt, be happy. They are as much of Zara’s family as those that are blood-related to her.

Speaking of Zara’s family, I had many laughs and angry spiral through me when her family was about. There was some good eggs – and some bad ones. But, I liked seeing the different reactions of those that are related to her.

Overall, Bountiful is about family, friendship, and love. It explores family and what you have to give up for it. Love and how it can change the way you look at life. Zara and Dave come together to not only look after their daughter but themselves. If you want a beautiful read that focuses on family, new parents and some sexy time – then this book is for you. It’s fun, heartbreaking and warms your inside all at the same time.

If you have been following me the last year, I’ve started making my way through Sarina Bowen’s books and I’ve really been enjoying them overall. So when I saw that she was bringing a new book out, with an Aussie taking the lead. I needed it.

Temporary follows two very different people. Not only from opposite sides of the world but also on the social ladder. Grace is the sole carer of her younger sister and will do anything to help them survive. Now in a temp job, she knows that one step out of line could risk her losing her sister – for good. While Callan has everything that could have asked for – except a family. Business and money are what he knows, but when his uncle dies he wants to make sure that he is remembered. They are on two different sides, but they can’t stop the chemistry that runs between them.

Grace was an easy protagonist to get along with. I loved her passion and her drive to keep her sister, while she tries her best to make sure she is happy. I felt that times she was very on edge, while I understood why it really did create a lot of tension in her life. Grace is very smart, but she does let her emotions get the better of her, and that did hinder my like for the book.

Callan wasn’t the easiest protagonist to get along with at times, but as the novel went on, I really got to like him. I loved his passion to do what ever he could for his uncle. I felt that at times he didn’t understand Grace’s situation before it was too late.

Like I said, Grace and Callan are total opposites. But when they were together, they brought out the best in one another. At the start, it was slow burning, with both Grace and Callan hesitant of one another. Nevertheless, as they got to know each other, they become comfortable. And from there it was pretty fast.

One of my favorite things about Temporary was that while it was co-written, I was unable to tell who was writing what. It flowed seamlessly and worked to the T. I’ve read both Sarina’s solo and co-written work, so I thought I had a grasp of her writing style. However, it just worked so well in Temporary, with alone putting a smile on my face. I felt that Callan’s Australian side was honest and very well done.

In saying that I did feel that at times Temporary was a little too long. I thought there could have been a good amount of pages cut. Some scenes were long winded and just interrupted the flow of the novel.

The notion of family is always big to me in novels and throughout Temporary we were able to see the good, and the bad. I loved the relationship between Grace and her sister that she is the sole carer of. While it was a struggle at times, I loved seeing how much they cared for one another and would do anything for each other.

Then we had Callan and his family. I liked the contrast of the two families and one big notion of life comes to mind, ‘money isn’t everything.’ I think that really stood out between the different dynamics of these two families. And let’s just say that his mother is a right piece of work.

Overall, Temporary is a heartwarming read that explores the notion of family, trust and learning to find your feet. With a bubbling relationship, a great friendship, and heartache, this books took me on a ride. If you are in for a little love, heartbreak and some beautiful moments, then this one is for you.
