Vampire Academy Movie Review *Spoiler Free*

March 6, 2014 Posted by angelreads Movie Reviews, Movies News 1 Comment

So I just came home from the movies not that long ago and I was going to tweet my reactions but I thought why not make a post about it.

Well after waiting 6 years for Vampire Academy, today seemed to drag on but then I was finally sitting in my seat at the movies. I just could not contain my excitement haha.

So here we go…

The Cast! I loved the cast they were just perfect. I cannot explain. I was always very open minded on who played who, I didn’t really have someone in mind. So I pretty alright with whom was chosen, but man they were just so good.

Zoey is such a good Rose, her sarcasm, her wit, her looks. I cannot explain it.

Lucy as Lissa, she is just a cutie, even though they made her a little different from the book in the sense of her attitude I still liked her.

Danila OH MY GOSH, his smile, his accent just oh my gosh. I am so glad that they cast someone who is Russian!

Dominic, man he is Christian, that is all I have to say.

All the other side characters I really enjoyed as well, Sarah as Natalie, Cameron as Mason who I really wanted to see more off, but then again he wasn’t in the first book that much.

I think it was an okay book to movie adaptation it wasn’t the best but I was not expecting that. I loved hearing lines from the book, as well as scenes.  I really wanted more of some scenes, hope this is not a spoiler but the start of the movie where we have the car crash scene just wish it was a little more.

The setting, omg the school looked like how I imagined it, it was really good.

The Chemistry between Rose and Dimitri was just so damn cute. It’s bad we squeal. Christian and Lissa, damn my heart, they are just so perfect. Oh and Mason. Rose and Christians friendship. I loved it!

The last fighting scenes were epic, it was so intense and when Victor held Lissa captive, just how I imagined it. The psi-hounds man they looked creepy.

I really liked the visual effects in the sense of the fire, water, air …. elements they were pretty cool.

The only thing that I really had a problem with is the pace, I just think it went way to fast, it was like one scene then bam! Another scene. I really think they need to slow it down maybe even make it a little longer.

I also like that Rose’s protection for Lissa really showed through. Their friendship, the bond, which by the way I loved they way they did it.

I got so many feels the film. I wanted to just jump out of chair screaming and squealing so many times, it was pretty funny. Those scenes like in the book that I fangirled, *cough* *cough* ‘Roza’ ‘Lust Charm’ and so on haha.

Overall I really enjoyed it apart from the little things here and there and really hope that they make Frostbite because I cannot wait to see how they can fix the little things here and there. And gosh Frostbite is pretty action packed.

I Give Vampire Academy the Movie  4 Starts out of 5!

There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews about this movie adaptation. Some say it’s good, some say it didn’t quite meet their expectations, so I decided to just patiently wait until the DVd version is out 😀
I like Zoey Deutch, though! That girl seems to have a very fun personality

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I onl Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I only ended up reading 3 books in. 3 pretty fun books but one of my slowest readings months in a while.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
