Books That Made Me Laugh Out Loud

Books That Made Me Laugh Out Loud

February 23, 2021 Posted by angelreads Top Ten Tuesday 8 Comments

This week I’m sharing the books that made me laugh out loud Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

Well firstly, I would like to say sorry for being MIA the last week and a bit. I ended up in the emergency room early last week. Then had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder and some gallstones. Which means I’ve spent the last week recovering. I’ve still got a bit to go, but I’ve finally been able to pick up my laptop. But I’m finally feeling that little bit better.

So for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday I decided to share some of my favourites books that have made me laugh out loud. The books that have had me in giggles and laughing so hard that snort. Like always these are in no order.

The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgertons #2) by Julia Quinn: This just got me in so many places. There were times that I just could not stop laughing and it was fantastic. This is also my favourite from the series as well. There are just so many things to love about it.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: If you are in need of a good laugh, then this book is for you. It’s a heartwarming standalone that just made me laugh so much. It was full of dry humour and things that normally would not be funny. But here, here it worked so well | Review

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan: Or anything from Rick Riordan. seriously if you are in need of a series that might tear you apart at times, but will also bring you so much joy – then this series is for you. It’s one that I am always recommending and will continue to.

Check, Please! Book 1: # Hockey (Check, Please! #1-2) by Ngozi Ukazu: This is another one that just got me. It’s an ice hockey romance graphic series and that just screams me. And this book had me laughing out loud.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: I don’t think I need to talk too much about this one, but it’s one of those books that combines humour and heartwarming things all into one. If you haven’t read this one yet, I highly recommend you do.

Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways #5) by Lisa Kleypas: There are times where I just think back to reading this book and laugh because it’s seriously the best thing ever. There are so many moments that I tried to hold in my loud laugh because seriously it was great.

When Dimple Met Rishi (Dimple and Rishi #1) by Sandhya Menon: I nearly forgot about this one. But there are some fantastic moments in this book that had me giggling quite a bit. If you are looking for a sweet romance that will also give you some great laughs, then this is for you.

Man Hands (Man Hands #1) by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby: While I didn’t love this book, it did make me laugh a lot – and I’ve read most of the books in this series and they are just as good. If you are looking for a good rom-com then this series is fantastic.

Ice Planet Barbarians (Ice Planet Barbarians #1) by Ruby Dixon: There are some pretty ridiculous and funny moments in this one right here. I don’t know if it’s meant to come across as funny but I had a blast reading this and the following books.

Never Seduce a Scoundrel (School For Heiresses #1) by Sabrina Jeffries: I had to put this one on the lists because it just made me laugh, smile and have a fantastic time. I think this is one of my favourite Sabrina Jeffries books I’ve read as well.

And that is it for this week! What are the books that have made you laugh out loud? Do we share any that is the same? Let’s Chat!

Man Hands was pretty funny. So was Klune’s book. I loved Lucy in that one.

RED, WHITE, and ROYAL BLUE is now on my TBR. I am making a list of funny books today. I just realized that I hardly ever read funny books and everything right now seems so serious. Here’s my list.

I still have to read When Dimple Met Rishi but I’ve heard such great things about it. Didn’t know it had laugh out loud parts too. 😀

I was also contemplating using one of the Bridgerton books. But then Elza highjacked the post and it went in a completely different directions. All the Bridgertons make you chuckle somewhere.

Still want to read The house in the Cerulean Sea…

    Happy TTT!

Oh geez, hope you’re feeling better soon! A good friend of mine had the same problem this time last year.

Red, White and Royal Blue is getting a lot of love today, for good reason. Such a fun book. Glad to see that Julia Quinn’s got a sense of humor since that series is on my TBR as well.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

Seeing The Viscount Who Loved Me on this list makes me nod in agreement, however, when writing the post this week I completely forgot about it. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-that-made-me-laugh-out-loud/

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I onl Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I only ended up reading 3 books in. 3 pretty fun books but one of my slowest readings months in a while.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
