Completed Series I Need To Finish Reading

Completed Series I Need To Finish Reading

Aug 19, 2021

Today I thought I would share the completed series that I currently have to finish reading. I normally do pretty well and can binge read series. But when I start them before they are finished, I do sometimes forget about them. So today I thought I would hold myself accountable and share the completed series that I need to get on reading.

For some of these series, I’ve read most of the books. And there are others that I have only read the first but want to keep on reading. From young adult to romance and fantasy here are those series that I need to get on and finish reading. Like always these are in no order.

Psy-Changeling Series by Nalini Singh: I don’t have many books in this series to go. I actually have the last 3 of this one to go. I do have the trinity series to read as well, but I only have 3 more books in this series to go. I’m just taking my time with this series. I binge-read the first 8 or so, and then I’ve slowly been reading the rest. I just love this series so much.

The Brown Sisters by Talia Hibbert: I read the first book in this trilogy earlier this year with Ely and I bought the rest of the books right away, and now I need to get onto reading them. I’m super excited because I loved the first book and I’ve heard they get better and better.

The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black: I have only read the first book in this one and I really did enjoy it. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the other books in this series, but I want to know about it myself. I’ve not really been reading much YA lately but I’m still excited to read it.

Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin: This is another one that I have heard mixed things about the next few books in the series. But I really enjoyed the first book, the world and the characters. As I said before I haven’t been reading a whole lot of young adult books but I am still very excited.

Ice Planet Barbarians Series: This series is not everyone’s cup of tea – but I have so much fun reading it. I’m currently only on book 7, and there is a whole lot more to go. But these are great, especially when I feel like I’m going into a reading slump.

Royals by Ella Fields: I really enjoyed reading the first book in this duo last year and now I can’t wait to read the second book. I just haven’t got around to it. This is very much full of high fantasy, high stakes and lots of court intrigue.

***

And there we go, those are some of the completed series that I need to get on and finish reading. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading them? Let’s Chat!

Retellings I Cannot Wait To Read

Retellings I Cannot Wait To Read

Aug 5, 2021

I love retellings and over the last few months, I want to read them more and more. So today I thought I would share some of the ones that I’m excited to read. I might end up doing another part of this post because I never realised till now how many retellings are currently on my tbr.

There is a mix of new releases, backlist titles, as well as some books that haven’t come out yet. There is also a mix of mythology retellings, classic stories and more. I basically just love any sort of twist on an original story. You should all know by now how much I love my Greek Mythology retellings. So there are quite of few of these on this list. While there is a lot of romance books on here. There are also some young adult and even some adult fiction ones – which I’m super excited for. Now let’s get into it. Like always these are in no order.

Gild (The Plated Prisoner #1) by Raven Kennedy – King Midas retelling | Neon Gods (Dark Olympus #1) by Katee Robert – Hades and Persophone retelling. | Electric Idol (Dark Olympus #2) by Katee Robert – Psyche and Eros – Out January 2022 | Red Hood by Elana K. Arnold – Little Red Riding Hood retelling.

Promises and Pomegranates (Monsters & Muses #1) by Sav R. Miller – Hades and Persophone retelling – Out August 2021 | Entreat Me by Grace Draven – Beauty and the Beast retelling. | Drag Me Up (Gods of Hunger #1) by R.M. Virtues – Hades and Persophone retelling | The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper – not necessarily a retelling, but set in a Pompeii’s lupanar.

Music of the Night (Tower Knights #1) by Angela J. Ford –  inspired by The Phantom of the Opera|  Ariadne by Jennifer Saint – Theseus and the Minotaur retelling. | Circe by Madeline Miller – Greek Mythology retelling | These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights #1) by Chloe Gong – Romeo and Juliett retelling.

And there we go, those are just some of the retellings currently on my tbr. Have you read any of these? Should I move any of these up on my tbr? What are some of your favourite retellings that you think I should add to my tbr? Let’s Chat!

Books I’ve Added To My TBR Because of TikTok

Books I’ve Added To My TBR Because of TikTok

Jul 22, 2021

If you haven’t booktok is going a little hectic at the moment and you know I had to jump in. It’s a great place for romance recommendations and I can sit there for hours going through videos. I have also started making some video’s myself, so if that is something that you want to check out – please do.

Anyway today I thought I would share some of the books I’ve added to my tbr because of TikTok. There is a range of different romances here. From dark romances to fantasy and everything in between. I really want to widen what I read in romance – and it’s a great way to do it. Anyway, let’s go.

Love in Sight by Denver Rose | Freestyle (Academy of Stardom #1) by Bea Paige | Dare You To Hate Me by B. Celeste | Lilac by B.B. Reid

Ache by Marley Valentine | Gild (The Plated Prisoner #1) by Raven Kennedy | Weightless by Kandi Steiner | Scars (The Triad #1) by Dana Isaly

Devious Little Liars (Saint View High #1) by Elle Thorpe | Diver’s Heart by K.A. Knight | Storm the Castle (Marry the Scot #1) by Jolie Vines | Abel (Sabine Valley #1) by Katee Robert

And there we go, those are just some that I have added to my tbr recently from TikTok. You can check out some more that I have on my wish list here. Have you joined booktok? What do you think of it? Have you read anything that you have seen on there? Let’s Chat!

March was a better reading month than February for March was a better reading month than February for me, and while I’m still stuck in my heated rivalry fanfiction era I managed to scrap out of it a little this month.

I reread four books from the sweet omegaverse series and honestly had the best time. I also read two of my most anticipated reads of the year and had a blast. Sadly I did also have my first dnf of the year.

What did you read this March? Any standouts? What are you looking forward to reading in April? Let’s chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I onl Well February wasn’t the best reading month. I only ended up reading 3 books in. 3 pretty fun books but one of my slowest readings months in a while.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
