Latest Books Added To My Goodreads TBR #4

Latest Books Added To My Goodreads TBR #4

Sep 9, 2020

I love sharing the latest books added to my Goodreads TBR and I thought it was time to do it again. I use my Goodreads tbr, not for books that I own, but for books that have caught my eye. It’s a way for me to keep track of the books that I want to read.

So today I’m sharing the latest books I’ve added to this tbr. There are books that have yet to be released. While some are older releases. It’s just mash of books. Like always these are in no order.

Sin and Ink (Sweetest Taboo #1) by Naima Simone: Earlier this week I read a few of Naima’s books and enjoyed them quite a book and this series of hers caught my eye. So I’ve added it to my tbr to hopefully pick up soon. I don’t know a whole lot about the book. However, it sounds interesting and intriguing.

That Scandalous Summer (Rules for the Reckless #1) by Meredith Duran: A Goodreads friend read this one and enjoyed it quite a bit and it sounds like something that I would love. I’m always looking for new historical romacne authors.

Here to Stay by Adriana Herrera: Nick recently read it and seemed to enjoy it. This one sounds like it’s going to be just a good read. One that will be fun and enjoyable and just make me happy. And I need that sometimes.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston: I have no idea why this wasn’t on my tbr before. You all know how much I love Red, White and Royal Blue. And this one sounds like it’s going to be even better. Plus look at that cover!

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons: I had seen this book pop up here and there for a while now. But I never checked it out. As soon as I read the synopsis I added it to my TBR. It has disability rep and I’m so excited about that.

DWD (The Fallen Men #6) by Giana Darling: This doesn’t even have a title. We don’t even know who it’s about. But I’m so excited to continue with this series. Things are starting to get interesting and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep #1) by Mira Grant: This isn’t normally my thing, but I’m intrigued by the synopsis and the reviews I have been seeing lately. It might be the perfect book to pick up next month.

And those are some of the latest books I’ve added to my Goodreads TBR. Have you read any of them? Are they on your tbr or wish list? Let’s Chat!

Books I Want To Read Soon

Books I Want To Read Soon

Aug 24, 2020

Today I thought I would share the books that I would like to read soon. These are the books that are next of tbr pile. The ones that I want to pick up next. I thought this would be a fun way to share a little on what I’m planning to read, but also get you all to help me pick some of my next reads.

Lately, I’ve been struggling with what to pick up next. I just don’t know what I feel like, so if you could help me pick something that I could read soon that would be fantastic. Anyway, here we go.

Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards #2) by Sarah MacLean: I read the first book in this series a little while ago and I want to continue reading this series for sure. I’m so intrigued to see where this all goes. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this series as a whole and I’m excited to continue.

In the Prince’s Bed (Royal Brotherhood #1) by Sabrina Jeffries: A few months ago I read a Sabrina Jeffries series and fell in love. So, of course, I had to get another one. This series sounds so interesting and I’m excited to go in and more some more from an author that has caught my eye.

The Midnight Lie (The Midnight Lie #1) by Marie Rutkoski: I bought this one a few months ago now and I need to get onto reading. I’ve loved reading Marie Rutkoski before and this one sounds so interesting. I’ve heard good things about it already and it sounds like it’s exactly what I love. I also haven’t picked up a fantasy in a little bit.

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds: I haven’t picked this one up yet as I knew I need to be in the right space to do it. I think I’m in that spot now and can’t wait to start it soon. It sounds interesting and intriguing and I can’t wait to read more poetry.

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo: This is another one that I’ve had for a little while. When I read The Poet X I cried like a baby and I need to be ready for that again. I like that this one is a little different but I love that as well. Hopefully, I can get to this one in the coming month.

Only When It’s Us (Bergman Brothers #1) by Chloe Liese: I don’t know too much about this week. The second book in this series caught my eye first and then I read the synopsis of this one and knew I needed to jump on it. I’m excited to pick this one up soon. It just sounds like an awesome sports romance.

And that is it for today’s post! What are some of the books that you want to get to soon? Have you read any of the books on my list? What do you suggest I pick up next? Let’s Chat!

Books On My NetGalley TBR

Books On My NetGalley TBR

Aug 7, 2020

Today I wanted to share the current books I have on my TBR via NetGalley. I always try and keep my NetGalley TBR as small as possible. There are times when I can off this TBR very quicky and then there are times where I’m just not in the mood for the books. So I always try and keep it small as possible, and attempt to keep my review rating over 90%. That is my goal.

Anyway, here are the books that I have been approved on NetGalley and are currently on my TBR. Like always these are in no order.

You Were Made For Me by Jenna Guillaume: As soon as I saw this one pop up on NetGalley I knew that I needed to request it. I enjoyed Jenna Guillaume’s first book a lot and this one appeals to me even more. I have just started reading it, and it is taking me a little while to get into, but hopefully, I start loving it soon.

Finding Balance (Brave Enough #2) by Kati Gardner: I don’t know too much about this one, but it caught my eye when Ely mentioned it to me. I’m always looking for new books with disability rep and this one seems really interesting. It sounds like it’s going to be a mix of fun and emotional read. I can’t wait to dig into it.

Trouble the Saints by Alaya Dawn Johnson: This is my current read, and it’s taking longer than I thought to read it. It’s an adult historical fiction/fantasy and it isn’t something I read a lot. But I’m enjoying it quite a bit. The writing isn’t something that I’m used to either. Therefore it’s taking longer to read, but I can’t wait to dig in more. The way that magic is represented in this one is fascinating. And I love the time it’s set!

The Wedding Date Disaster by Avery Flynn: I haven’t read an Avery Flynn book before but this sounds like it’s going to be a fun read. I love-hate to love romances and this one sounds like it’s going to be just that. Add in some rom-com elements and you have this book. I’m excited to pick up an Avery Flynn book for the first time.

And those are the books that are currently on my NetGalley TBR. I can’t wait to get to them. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? What is on your NetGalley TBR. Let’s Chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
