Top Ten Tuesday

Books With Animals on The Cover

Books With Animals on The Cover

Apr 11, 2023

This week I’m sharing books with animals on the cover. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I liked this week’s Top Ten Tuesday a lot. It let me have a little break from thinking too hard and just sharing some pretty covers. I am a sucker for a good cover, and if it has an animal on it, I am drawn right in. Today I’m sharing with you a range of different books from fantasy to paranormal and a few others here and there. I also let myself go with fictional and mythological animals as well.

So let’s get right into it. Here are some books I have liked with animals on the cover. And as always these are in no order.

Wolf Kissed (Luna Marked #1) by Heather Renee | Psycho (Necessary Evils, #2) by Onley James. | Broken Bonds (The Bonds that Tie, #1) by J. Bree. | Sacrificed to the Dragon (Stonefire Dragons, #1) by Jessie Donovan.

Dark Horse (A Demon’s Guide to the Afterlife #1) by Kel Carpenter and Aurelia Jane. | The Dragon’s Bride (A Deal With a Demon, #1) by Katee Robert. | Muscles & Monsters (Leviathan Fitness, #1) by Ashley Bennett | Desperate Measures (Wicked Villains, #1) by Katee Robert.

The Vixen’s Lead (Kit Davenport, #1) by Tate James. | Lore Olympus: Volume One by Rachel Smythe.

And there we go. Those are some of the books that I have enjoyed with animals on the cover. Have you read any of these? Are you planning on reading any of them? What are the books that made it to your list? Let’s Chat!

Indie Romance Books That You Should Read

Indie Romance Books That You Should Read

Apr 4, 2023

This week I’m sharing indie romance books that you should read. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

It’s all about indie books this week and you all know that I love those. 90% of what I read these days is independently published/self-published books. Not for any reason other than it’s where I can find what I am looking for. So let’s just say I am very excited about this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. There are still a lot of readers out there that don’t know where to start with indie books. So today I thought I would share the romance books that I think you should read.

I am not going to lie, this post took me some time. I’ve read hundreds of indie romance books over the last few years and I could name way more than 10, so it did take me a while to dwindle it down. I tried to pick at least one book for nearly everyone.

So let’s get right into it. These are the indie romance books that I think you should read and hope that you enjoy. And like always these are in no order. Please check all trigger warnings before you read any of the books on this list.

Unhinged (Necessary Evils, #1) by Onley James | The Wrong Bride (The Windsors, #1) by Catharina Maura. | A Little Too Late (Madigan Mountain, #1) by Sarina Bowen. | Brutal Prince (Brutal Birthright, #1) by Sophie Lark.

The Longing of Lone Wolves (Fae Guardians, #1) by Lana Pecherczyk. | Broken Bonds (The Bonds that Tie, #1) by J. Bree. | The Never King (Vicious Lost Boys, #1) by Nikki St. Crowe. | A King so Cold (Royals, #1) by Ella Fields.

Reason to Believe (Legacy, #1) by Rebecca Yarros. | Under Locke by Mariana Zapata.

And there we go. Those are only just some of the indie books that I have loved and think you should give a go. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? What indie books made it to your list? Ley’s chat!

Books for People Who Liked Author X

Books for People Who Liked Author X

Mar 28, 2023

This week I’m sharing books you might like if you like a particular author. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I am not going to lie. I really struggled with the topic this week. But thanks to some guidance from Ely I twisted the topic just a little. So instead of picking one author for all 10 books. I’ve decided to pick a few different authors to highlight instead of the one. This topic is basically if you like this author, then you may like these books. So let’s get into it.

The authors I picked for this topic are; Elle Kennedy, Julia Quinn, Sarah J Mass and Ali Hazelwood.

If you like Elle Kennedy’s sports romances then you might like The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years, #1) by Sarina Bowen. and Getting Lucky Number Seven. (Taking Shots, #1) by Cindi Madsen.

If you like Julia Quinn and historical fiction then you might like reading the Wicked and the Wallflower. (The Bareknuckle Bastards, #1.) by Sarah MacLean and The Duchess Deal (Girl Meets Duke, #1) by Tessa Dare.

If you like Sarah J. Maas then you might enjoy reading Broken Bonds (The Bonds that Tie, #1) by J. Bree and The Longing of Lone Wolves (Fae Guardians, #1) by Lana Pecherczyk.

If you enjoy reading Ali Hazelwood then you might like Two Wrongs Make a Right (The Wilmot Sisters. #1) by Chloe Liese and Delilah Green Doesn’t Care (Bright Falls, #1) by Ashley Herring Blake.

And there we go. Those are the books that I would recommend if you like these authors. From contemporary romance to fantasy romance and more. I hope you pick up some of these. What authors and books made it to your list? Have you read any of the books on mine? Let’s chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
