Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list that members at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone join as you please. This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR.

Well Autumn for us here in Australia, but it’s still around the same months. There is quite a lot of books coming out in the coming months. There are lots that I cannot even remember, but here are the top ten that I cannot wait to read. These are in month release order. So here is my Spring TBR;

The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig: Last year I read The Girl From Everywhere (Full Review) and adored it! So I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2. I don’t know when it’s getting published in Australia yet, but I am keeping my eye out for it. There were questions left unanswered and more places to travel| Released March

Begin, End, Begin: A #LoveOzYA Anthology: Now if this wasn’t on my list, I don’t know what would be. I am so excited to read this anthology. It’s from so many amazing Aussie authors that shine in the YA world. I need it in my hands. | Coming April

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennet: This book just sounds so damn cute! I cannot wait to read it and devour it, all I’ve heard is such great things. Geeks, hidden love, and romance | Coming April

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare: If you know me well enough, then seeing Lord of Shadows on my list won’t be a surprise. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. I need it now! Especially with Shadowhunters on break, I don’t have any of the shadowhunter world in my life. I think a re-read might be in order. | Coming May

Avenged by Amy Tintera: If you have read Ruined, then you know that the ending was one hell of a cliffhanger and it’s begging to be read. It’s everything that I love in a book and I am expecting great things from book 2 | Coming May

The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich: This just sounds epic and I want this book in my hands! 2 boys from different sides attempt to make a girl fall for them, but instead fall for each other. Umm yes, please. Oh, and there is spy school involved! | Coming May

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: This has been getting so much love and I am so ready to read it. It sounds like a beautiful, fun and gripping read. | Coming May

Cold Summer by Gwen Cole: Kale can time travel. One day he is a high school drop out, the other a soldier in World War II. Haunted by PTSD and his life falling apart, all Kale needs to find out that he will die in WWII – but now he must survive | Coming May

Girl out of Water by Laura Silverman: This sounds heartbreaking, heartwarming and uplifting. It’s a book that I’ve already heard so many good things about and I cannot wait to read it myself. Plus it features a disability and I am so in | Coming May

Brave New Girl by Rachel Vincent: I just found this book recently and I am intrigued. I haven’t read a dystopian in some time, but this one caught my eye. A girl who is unique when the rest of the world is the same | Coming May

Ten Books I Loved Less Than I Thought I Would

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye: I was in the minority of this one. I was expecting to love this book. It was supposed to have everything tha I loved and it all fell flat for me | Full Review

Caraval by Stephanie Garber: I actully really liked this book, but it wasn’t what I expected. I felt a little let down and didn’t love it as much as everyone | Full Review

The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles: Again, another one that I enjoyed reading but wasn’t 100% loving. I enjoy things about the book, but then there were parts that I didn’t life | Full Review coming soon.

The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi: I adored the writing of this one. But, I was totally confused at times and needed something more | Full Review

Moon Chosen by P.C Cast: Overall, I loved the world of this book. It was captivating and intriging all at the same time. However, the length and certain moments in the book that I didn’t love | Full Review

Heartless by Marissa Meyer: I was expecting to love this one, but I was left totally dissapointed. There were multiple things that didn’t sit right with me | Full Review

Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers: This book just wasn’t for me. I was expecting to really like it and I ended up hating it | Full Review

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: Now, I like these books, but I don’t feel the hype towards it that others feel.

The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee: Another one with a lot of hype that I didn’t love as much as I thought I would. I still enjoyed it as a whole though | Full Review

Breathing Under Water by Sophie Hardcastle: This book was emotinal as hell, but I felt that I was missing something. Something that would have made me love the book | Full Review

Top Ten Slow-Burn Romances

Slow-Burn romances are my favourite! I love seeing the couple grown both with each other and with themselves. So here are some of my favourites. Some of the romances are contained to one book, while others spread over a complete series. And like always these are in no particular order.

Rose and Dimitri | Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Rose and Dimitri are probably one of my robably one of my favourite couples of all time. And them becoming a couple is a lengthy process. It takes time and resilience, but it was so beautiful. At first, they both had attraction, and as the novels went on it turned into something more.

Percy and Annabeth | Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan: This is a slow-burn romance like no other. But, what I love about these two is that they started off as friends and as they grew older it turned into something more.

Ruby and Arcus | Frostblood by Elly Blake: These two are one of my new favourite couples. There romance too nearly the whole book to take off, but the interaction and reaction between the two beforehand was one fire. | Full Review

Sam and Camilla | Life in Outer Space by Melissa Keil: Now, this romance was totally adorable and what made it that much better was the slow-burn romance between Sam and Camilla. | Full Review

Jace and Clary | The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: Although there was heaps attraction between these two, there was also a lot standing in their way. This slow-burn romances had a lot of hiccups on the way.

Alec and Magnus | The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: I don’t know if I can really include this couple in here, but I had to. Alec and Magnus are simply amazing.

Kestrel and Arin | The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski: One of my favourite couples by far. The romance between these two is defiantly slow-burning. But, because of that, it was beautiful.

Cinder and Kai | The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer: This is a difficult romance to put in a category because they did fall for each other quickly, but after setbacks, they have to fall again and boy is that a slow-burn.

Adrian and Sydney | Bloodlines by Richelle Mead: These two could have killed me. They are all about the slow-burn romance, and it was beautiful.

James and Rachel | Every Series by Ellie Marney: If you haven’t read this series, just stop everything and go start it now. Because it’s beautiful. And the romance – yes, please.
