Books with a High Page Count | Top Ten Tuesday

Books with a High Page Count | Top Ten Tuesday

Aug 19, 2025

This week, I’m sharing the books I’ve read with a high page count. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I’m the type of person who will read a book no matter the page count if it’s something that I think I am going to enjoy. I love short books to give me a quick read, but then I love reading epic long fantasies and throw me a long contemporary romance, why not? So, today I’m sharing 10 of the longest books that I have read over the years. See if any of them have made it to your list? Let’s go

Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices, #3) by Cassandra Clare – 893 Pages. | Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer – 823 Pages. | Redeeming 6 (Boys of Tommen, #4) by Chloe Walsh – 766 Pages. | A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #4) by Sarah J. Maas – 757.

Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, #4) by Stephenie Meyer – 756 Pages.  | Pucking Around (Jacksonville Rays, #1) by Emily Rath – 756 Pages. | City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare – 725 Pages. | Shadow Princess (Zodiac Academy, #4) by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. – 724 Pages.

Angel Fire (Angel, #2) by L.A. Weatherly – 720 Pages. | When the Moon Hatched (Moonfall, #1) by Sarah A. Parker – 718 Pages.

And so, there we go. Those are some of the longest books I’ve read over the last few years. What books made it to your list? Do we share any that are the same? What was your highest page count? Let’s chat!

Delicate Escape by Catherine Cowles | ARC Review

Delicate Escape by Catherine Cowles | ARC Review

Delicate Escape (Sparrow Falls #2) by Catherine Cowles

Pages: 380
Publish date: August 22, 2024
Publisher: –
ISBN: 9781951936600

Trust doesn’t come easily when you’ve been running for as long as I have, which is why moving in with a man I barely know is such a bad idea.

Shepard Colson is all golden-boy charm and devastating good looks. But I know what it’s like to be taken in by easy smiles and the promise of forever—I have the scars to prove it.

Only the handsome contractor won’t stop coming by the bakery and prying little truths from my lips. Those amber eyes of his seeing far too much. And when all the secrets come crashing down, he’s determined to keep me safe. Even if it means moving into my rundown cabin to do it.

Now, Shep isn’t just rebuilding the walls of my home, he’s working his way into my heart. Suddenly, he’s everywhere: shirtless in my garden or in a towel coming out of my bathroom. And my resolve is no match.

Only it’s more than his golden looks. It’s him. The way he watches for my wounds but tells me I’m stronger than anyone he’s ever known. And I can’t help but fall.

But I should’ve known better than to think I could be happy. Not when a ghost from my past still has me in his sights. And when he finds me, he’ll do anything to tear my life apart, even if it means ending it for good…

Delicate Escape:

So I have been slowly making my way through Catherine Cowles’s books and backlist and Delicate Escape is one of the best that I have read. My heart broke and was repaired so many times through this one but in the end, it was all good.

I absolutely adored Shep in the first book and I knew from the moment that Thea entered the picture that they were perfect for one another. The heartbreak that they both have endured drives them together and connects them in a way that makes everything work so well.

Shep is so protective, but not in a bad way at all. It’s how he loves and after we find out a few things about his life, we really understand why. On the other hand, Thea has been through a lot. A messed up situation and has absolutely torn everything about her. She is still picking up the pieces and not really putting them back together. Both Shep and Thea really do need each other and it isn’t because they are dependent on each other but because they make each other better.

I loved and adored seeing Thea grow throughout the book, I just wanted to give her a warm hug and tell her it might not be okay now but it will be. But Shep was there to do it for me. I loved loved seeing them together. Shep had to tread carefully but as they got to know each other little by little it was perfect.

One of the things I like about Catherine’s books is that I can figure out some things, but then other times things just take me in a whole new direction. I like that Catherine has put in those clues that allows the reader to work some things out.

Overall I adored Delicate Escape. It’s steamy, heartbreaking and might just tear you apart but it will put you back together. Shep and Thea are made for each other and put a massive smile on my face. I’m so excited to see who the next book is about because I’m loving Catherine Cowles’s work and I cannot wait for more.

Have you read this one yet? What did you think about it? Are you planning on reading anything Catherine Cowles? This is my 4th Catherine Cowles series that I am on so I am very excited. Let’s chat!

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
