Kindle Unlimited TBR | July 2022

Kindle Unlimited TBR | July 2022

Jul 14, 2022

It’s time for another Kindle Unlimited tbr. I really enjoy doing these posts. Not only do I like to share what I am hoping to read. But I also like to know what you all think.

I’ve been really mixed in what kind of romances I am reading at the moment, so I love to have all different types on my kindle unlimited tbr so I always have something to read. A lot of these books I’m hoping to read this month for the Indie Accords, you can check out my full tbr for it now.

So let’s get into showing this tbr. As always these are in no real order. Please be mindful if you pick any of these books in regards to trigger and content warnings. Nevertheless, let’s go.

Queen Takes Triune (Their Vampire Queen #6) by Joely Sue Burkhart | The Complete Kit Davenport Series (Kit Davenport #1-6.5) by Tate James. | Lore & Lust (Lore & Lust #1) by Karla Nikole | Promises and Pomegranates (Monsters & Muses #1) by Sav R. Miller.

Ask Me Why by Harloe Rae | Darkness Rising: The Complete Series by R.L. Caulder. | Twisted Hate (Twisted #3) by Ana Huang | Hooked (Never After #1) by Emily McIntire.

Blood Bonds (The Bonds That Tie #3) by J. Bree | All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata. | Lovelight Farms (Lovelight #1) by B.K. Borison | Thieves and Monsters (Three Fates Mafia #1) by Opal Fairchild and Clio Evans.

Fantasy of Frost (The Tainted Accords #1) by Kelly St. Clare | Tales You Win (Grim & Beast Duet #1) by Bea Paige. | Last on the List by Amy Daws | Black Swan (A Demon’s Guide to the Afterlife #3) by Kel Carpenter and Aurelia Jane.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon (Mead Mishaps #1) by Kimberly Lemming. | Muscles & Monsters (Leviathan Fitness #1) by Ashley Bennett. | Ablaze (The Firecracker Cousins #2) by A.H. Cunningham | Moonstruck (Necessary Evils #3) by Onley James.

And there we go. Those are all the books that are currently on my kindle unlimited tbr. Some of these are the next book in the series of ones I’m loving, some are from new to me authors. And some are ones that I’ve been hanging to read for a while.

Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Are you planning on reading any of these soon? So, let’s chat!
Book Covers That Feel Like Summer

Book Covers That Feel Like Summer

Jul 12, 2022

This week I’m sharing the books that have covers that feel like summer. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I love the feel of summer. Not so much summer itself, because it gets super hot here. I like the whole vibe of summer. And while it’s winter now here in Australia, and quite cold. I thought this would be a great topic to do, to make me feel a little warmer.

I’ve read all the books on this list and have loved most of them. The main thing is that they remind me of summer. From the colours, to what is on the cover and just the overall aesthetic. Let’s get right into it. As always these are in no order.

Alight (The Firecracker Cousins #1) by A.H. Cunningham – Review | In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens – Discussion. | With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo | Long Way Home (Thunder Road #3) by Katie McGarry.

Me + Somebody’s Son: A Heights Story by Christina C. Jones | The Governess Game (Girl Meets Duke #2) by Tessa Dare. | Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes – Review | On the Rocks (Becker Brothers #1) by Kandi Steiner.

For Vacation Only by Mila Nicks – Review | Xeni (Loose Ends #2) by Rebekah Weatherspoon.

And there we go. Those are the books that have covers that remind me of summer. From the colours to just the feel. And then everything in between. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? What covers made it onto your list? Let’s chat?

If You Liked This Popular TikTok Book Read This One… #2

If You Liked This Popular TikTok Book Read This One… #2

Apr 17, 2022

I did this post like this a few weeks ago, and I had so much fun doing it that I wanted to do it again. So today I’m sharing some recommendations for books that are similar to popular tiktok books.

While I love Tiktok, it’s not always fun seeing the same books recommend over and over again. It’s nice to see books getting the love, but it’s also nice to see some new recommendations. Today I’m sharing some books that I think need a little more love, from young adult mysteries to fantasy and contemporary romances.

I want to mention quickly again, that everyone’s Tiktok ‘for you page’ is different for everyone. So while these may be more popular on my side, you might not see them as much. However, I’m also a bookseller these books are quite popular. Anyways let’s get into it!

I can’t believe the traction that We Were Liars is getting once again. It’s such a strange thing to see, but if you liked We Were Liars, I think you would really enjoy The Vanishing Game by Kate Kay Myers. It’s got that same vibe of family mystery, but The Vanishing Game also includes some surprise elements that are so cool.

I mean I adore the love that The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood and I think it deserves it. But it’s one that I see always popping up on my feed. Teach Me by Olivia Dade is a fantastic academic romance between two teachers that just hits. I read it recently and gosh I loved it way more than I thought I would. While the characters are older than in The Love Hypothesis, the romance still gives off that same feel. I think so many people would love this one.

I may be putting at string here but if you love From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout, then I think you would like A King so Cold (Royals #1) by Ella Fields. While I have seen some love for A King so Cold, I really wish that it got more. I thought it was fantastic. It’s a romance that is also full of political intrigue and a romance that will tear you apart.

While these two don’t follow plots that are similar. I think that the romance and feel of the books are the same. The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas is a book that I have been asked for non-stop for the last 6 months, and if you loved that I think you would love For Vacation Only by Mila Nicks. Plus For Vacation Only is set on a cruise ship, and the romance only last while on board! Yes, please.

And there we go. Did you enjoy this post? Would you like more of these? Have you read any of these popular Tiktok books? What did you think of them? Have you read any of my recommendations? Let’s Chat!

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.

And I’m going to be honest here it’s because I’ve been constantly reading Heated Rivalry fanfics. 🤷‍♀️ I’m having the best time though.

How was your reading in February? Any 5 star reads?
