Okay, so not all of these are 5 stars, but if they have come very close.

5 Stars 1

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys: One of my favourite books of the year.  Beautiful, captivating, extraordinary. Salt to the Sea is a gorgeous novel that brings to light a catastrophe that seems to be forgotten. With stunning writing and intriguing characters Ruta Sepetys brings a novel that tells a story that everyone needs to read. | Review

The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski: A beautiful way to end the series. The Winner’s Kiss is about love, betrayal, friendship and what would people do to do for their empire. The Winner’s Kiss takes you on a journey like no other, it captures your heart, but wreaks your emotions, and it will break you and put you together over and over again until the last page. | Review

Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry:  A steamy romance, dark issues, sweet love and protagonists that pulls you right in. Walk the Edge by Katie MaGarry is a brilliant second novel in the Thunder Road series that is for lovers of YA Contemporary and anyone else who loves romance in dark times| Review

5 Stars 2

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: Clare’s best yet. Cassandra Clare brings the magic of the shadow world into a new light, in a gripping first novel of a series, Lady Midnight is dark, fun and full of ups and down, it is going to rip your heart apart.| Review

The Darkest Corners by Kata Thomas: The Darkest Corners is mind-blowing, heartbreaking and shows us that family is not always family, not matter what you believe | Review coming soon.

Winter by Marissa Meyer: What an amazing way to finish off the series. it was full of adventure, heartbreaking moments, beautiful moments that had me grinning ear to ear. Winter has all the characters that we all know and love and brings in some new ones; some we hate and some that we might just like. I adored Winter, it was just so beautiful.

5 Stars 3

The Things I Didn’t Say by Kylie Fornasier:  A gorgeous novel that breaks you down. It pulls at your heart and slowly rips it. With beautiful writing and a slowburning romance that starts off quick, but takes it’s time. | Full Review Soon

Book Cover Love

Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: This is only a recent read, and I have no idea why I waited so long to read these books, because they are seriously so good. I haven’t written my reviews for this, but I read the whole series in a week.

Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski: This is probably one of my favourite fantasy series that I have read. I adore these books, and I just want everyone to read them. Winner’s Curse | Winner’s Crime | Winner’s Kiss

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys: Another recent read, but this book is already of my favourite this year. Review

Book Cover Love

Emmy and Oliver by Robin Benway: I love this book a lot, it was fun, cute and broke my heart at times. Review

Masquerade by Kylie Fornasier: This book is just beautiful. Review

The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas: This book messed with my mind, but it was so good. here was so many twist and turns and I had no idea to believe. I guessed some things and was way off on others. This book kept me thinking and thinking, I could not put it down. Review coming soon.

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I have a love-hate relationship with this series. But I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s best friends to fake dating to-lovers. It’s always been you, bad-boy/good-girl, and I loved that. While Save Your Breath has quite a few tropes, it really leads itself to it, and it works.

Aleks and Mia have known each other for years now. Since they were teenagers, that angst has been building up this whole time. And you can tell right from the get-go, it’s fantastic. I even wanted more of it, because I love pain. When Aleks went to live with Mia’s family as a teenager, sparks flew, but for many reasons, they both put their feelings aside. And well, now they are not only going to be fake-dating, but they might as well be engaged, too.

I really enjoyed seeing how both Aleks and Mia both tried to hide how they were feeling throughout the whole ‘fake-dating’ situation, but anyone could see it. They know each other as no one else does. Aleks has a lot going on, and while I do think this was brushed over a little too much, Mia is his centre. Mia is a massive music star and is a female in the industry, so yeah, people don’t respect her. Obvsiouly because why couldn’t a female star be badass and write about the things that she has gone through? Aleks and Mia get each other, and that is very clear from the start; they are both just trying to squash everything. We get to see them slowly start to show how they feel, and well, one night it all explodes.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot; it’s not my favourite of the series, but I had a great time reading it. I liked Aleks and Mia a lot as characeters and while I think the mental health aspect could have been explored a whole lot more, I can see why it wasn’t. The romance was slow and spicy, the angst was great, and the payoff for these two was what they needed.
